Stop hyping KILLZONE 2!!

PLEASE stop hyping this game!!! I know that we are all very excited about this game and the budget and graphics seem incredible. It will probably be a beautiful and almost flawless FPS.

At the same time, we have to stop announcing this game as a "Halo 3 killa" or "Best FPS EVER!!!!" It's a set-up for failure. Anytime you put things up on a pedestal, they only have a longer way to fall. If this game turns out to be anything less than an 8.5 on GSpot, there will be an infant-like sense of ownage in System Wars.

We all know that GSpot isn't always favorable when it comes to PS3 games (Resistance was sooo much better than it got scored here) and the FPS genre is really getting full with great games which set a very high standard. To this date, we're still trying to find a game better than Gears...

So, in closing, let's just give Killzone 2 some silent infatuation in our mind. Lems, Sheep, and all others will just have to bite their lips with envy (until Halo 3 comes out).

I think thats too late for anyone to stop hyping it.

And most of gamespots reviews are right.

Gears of war was hyped up but it delivered, join in the excitement as killzone 2 will deliver too:D

Most people aren't hyping it as a halo killer. they are just hyping it to be a freaking awesome FPS.

edit: Gameplay wise there are loads of better games then GeOW.

its sad that people think gears of war delivered off its hype. It had fantastic visuals good online combined with a terrible story and a 3-4 hour campaign which was boring and pointless. But you know nowa days all you need is fun online with superb gfx and you get a 9.6 but its a cool game id say an 8.7-8.9. (my fav part of game is its single plyer and story) So if KZ2 has a great story with great single player i can give to sh!!ts about the multiplayer.bigblunt537

People wouldn't be hyping Killzone 2 if Sony hadn't allowed people to believe it was something incredible. Now that they've done it, this hype is a good thing. It means Sony has some tremendous expectations to meet. So far it's been mainly just hot air from them.

It's time for them to PROVE their legitimacy in this console generation. And I really hope they do, because the PS3 itself is a great machine. Cheers to their engineers for that. But their execs and brain dead marketing guys have really put them in a tight spot and it's time for them to work hard to get themselves out.

Agreed. And even better online, but when it comes to graphics and controls GeoW is a clear winner... Since when was bigblunt537 a super SONY fanboy? I mean what he wrote is something I could've written... And I am a Nintendo fanboy! Well sorta, since I am not really a fanboy at all (IMO) but if I were I'd pretty much be a Big-N fanboy. Okay maybe the campaign in GeoW wasn't boring until one had played for like an hour... GeoW is a game that is best when played shor periods at a time. 8.9 is still pretty high for a game like GeoW, I mean even FFXII only got 9.0 and it's clearly better than GeoW. Killzone had one of the greatest console (or maybe the greatest) console FPS stories of all time and there's little to no doubt that Killzone 2 will have a great story too (which hopefully continues from where the 5th chapter of Liberation ended).
