Stupid Price Drop..

I heard recently that Sony is dropping the price for the PS3 in Japan and maybe some other foreign countries... BUT NOT the USA because the developers over in Japan have been whining about how the cost of the PS3 will make them lose money and fanbase.... So I'm just wondering why we don't have screaming developers and fans over here...

Its been dropped to £399 from £425 here in the UK by alot of retailers recently, but thats still more then you guys pay :-(CrowOTH

 How much is a Big Mac? How much is rent in London? How much is gas? The PS3 is properly priced in Europe especially when you consider the impact that the VAT has on the price. You got to remember that the $599 in the US is WITHOUT Tax so what is your price without VAT and then compare it to cost of living and income etc......  and don't try to add tax to the $599 and compare that because taxes are decided by politicans and you can't expect Sony to change their price based on what taxes are in a country....

Yeah when it was released here in Canada it was $599 but they did raise it $699 a few months later
and yes that's when I bought it....a few months later lol. Shoulda bought it on launch, if I only knew
they would raise the Price.

I wonder what would happen if they said "PS3's Price being raised, buy them now before it's too late", 
would it encourage people to buy it?
