about to add the PS3 to my console party so my 360 can have a friend...couple of lame questions I have though

Do I have to buy the PS3 brand HDMI cable or will any HDMI to HDMI cable work?

I only have 1 optical cable input in my surround sound system and my 360 is already hooked up to that....do I have to keep switching cables when playing one or the other or is there another way around this?

any help will be greatly appreciated :)

A £5 HDMI cable will be the same as a £50 one.

Not sure about your surround sound problem, maybe you can get a dual adapter from somewhere?

All HDMI cables are about the same regardless of brand and any brand will work on the PS3. As for the optical situation there is a optical splitter that works ok if the optical light shuts off when a system is turned off. I have one of these splitters for my sattelite and PS3 but the sattelite box stopped turning the optical portion off when I turned it off that made the splitter worthless to me anymore. Up until that happened the thing worked great with no problems.

By the way this is NOT a stupid question at all. This is the kind of questions people should be asking when in dought.
