Considering how many ppl complain about the lack of rpg's on the PS3... it's a shame that the one time a developer does create an awesome exclusive for the system, gamers do not support it. VC is one of, if not THE, better rpg experience of last year... I just purchased it this week. I wasn't sure if I could get into the art style & strategy gameplay... but it truly is brilliant and the graphics are quite beautiful. If you're a fan of good rpg's and great stories, you owe it to yourself to go pick this one up!

Yea, that's one of the things that kept me from buying it for a minute... but I'll pick back up on my trophy hoarding when KZ2 comes out. Not sure if they've been confirmed for SFIV but I plan to pick that up in a couple of weeks as well.

I didn't mean it like that, I mean a few GameSpoters like yourself have been creating threads such as "Support Valkyria Chronicles" or "You have To Buy Valkyria Chronicles", it's implying people have to pick this game up or SEGA will be doomed. It flopped, we can't do nothing about it.

Are you serious?One guy on my friends list has 28 games with trophies while another has 16. I only have 8, but I'm only trailing them by a little bit. One game could put me ahead. I will get KZ2, but they both have it preordered already, and I know they will end up getting Uncharted 2, which I also intend on getting, so they will stay ahead if I buy any non trophy games.
i got it, so far i dig it but im only on the 6th chapter. apparently either the AI is ruthless or my strategy is terrible, i think it might be a little of both.

Well, I got VC and while it's fine, the lack of post game, the weak story and the way to overpowered Alice (was it her name? Don't remember) actually destroied the Game for me once I finished it :S Instead of supporting VC, we better start supporting Disgaea 3. Not only is it from a much smaler company, but they also work hard on giving us fans what we want. They release updates that enhances the Game and bring us DLC for new playable characters from other Games they made. Disgaea 3 is IMO the best (S)RPG avaible and this by far :/

It's sad that such a gem was not picked up by many people. Valkyria hronicles is one of the most refreshing rpg's I've played in a few years.hillelslovak
I totally agree. The game may not be for everyone but to me the game is a masterpiece!

And from the game's floppage at retail, it DOES seem that the hardcore faithful that would love a game like this really don't know that it's out there.
First, Valkyria Chronicles will NOT satisfy man RPG fans out there.
Because it isn't one.
Good game, but not great game. It has few flaws that will annoy people and the game isn't for everyone.
Turn based strategy fans should check it out, and anime fans should also check it out.

Not true... I am DEFINITELY not a strategy fan. Hardcore rpg fan though... and I love the game. I didn't say it would satisfy EVERY rpg fan out there, but is will satisfy most. No game can satisfy every fan of any genre, period. Really the only flaw for me is the lack of a pause button. The only other strategy games I have ever enjoyed are Disgaea 1 & 2... and once again, that had more to do with the rpg elements of the games.

I play Rock Band and Rock Band 2 with my roommates, and I have done Motorstorm and Burnout races with the guys I'm waring with. Was clanmates with one of them for 6 months in warhawk before the clan fell apart. I won't grind for some trophy just to get up on them. I get good games and have fun with them while trying to achieve a goal. If at the end of the day I'm not ahead, then that's a reason to continue playing a good game, or give up and get another good game.
