I'm looking for the total package for my PS3

The headphones must be:

  • 7.1 or 5.1 Surround Sound (don't know which one is better...)
  • Wireless w/Rechargeable Batteries
  • $100 or less (yeah I know i'm cheap)
  • Having a mic is optional

I saw this ones on Amazon for $80 but don't know if its compatible: Link

You're asking for a little too much there buddy. There is no headset that meets all those requirements, that is compatible with the PS3. The closest thing is the Tritton AXPro, which is wired and costs around $150-200. And there are no surround sound gaming headphones cheaper than $100.

Surround sound headphones are worthless. Sennheiser HD555 are a good pair of headphones for under $100. Hook them up using the RCA cables that came with the system and a RCA to 3.5mm adaptor.

surround sound is a big difference for gaming. High end tritan and turtle beach is about the same price 150. Tritan 5.1 vs turtle beach 7.1 but i doubt you can tell the difference. I got tritan at first but i inserted the mic in the wrong way so it striped the plastic off, in another word is pretty fragile but i think they redesign that part plus theres bunch of wire so i pick up turtle beach.

Both are great.

He's talkin' about these. http://gear.ign.com/articles/935/935036p1.html I have them, and would def recommend them. I find the leather earcups to be alot more comfortable than the fabric ones though.

Plug in a set of stereo headphones, earbuds, whatever and listen to this. You can get positional audio from two channels covering your ears. It becomes more and more clear as the quality of the parts in your headphones increase.

And for $150 you can find a headset with a pair of drivers that exceed tritton or turtle beach. Not only that but games contain music. These gaming headsets are not as good at playing it.

Sennheiser is a great product.

1st of all your not going to get game audio through your PS3's USB port!!!!!!!!!

If you bought those logitech headphones all you would hear would be chat communication.

definatly tritton, ax pro should be priority, but if ur on a budget, look at the ax720, but if thats still too much, if u already have a headset, just he turtlebeach dss processor to create simulated 7.1 surround sound in any headset.

$100 or less, you can barley get a pair of 2.1's that are decent for that price.
