I know what you mean and unfortunately this problem will never go away. I'm usually lucky in the the sense that I rarely come across people like that. I suppose a decent solution would be to only use headsets with friends and in other games just mute those people off.
i get them on occasion.. but i like to talk to the people i am playing with about what's going on in the game or about other non game related things.. teamwork is fun..
I want peoples opinoins on this, IMO I find that Ps3 headsets are useless. All you get is other gamers Shouting Abuse at other gamers, People playing loud music through their headsets and just talking utter rubbish. I can understand that other gamers just want to talk to their friends or other gamers when online, but it's turned into a mess of Swearing, Death threats and strange sound effects.... I just want to play MGO without someone telling me to go F**k my own mother, it's just not neccessary. What are other peoples opinions?king-kj
Sometimes I find it hilarious because the insults are so weak, and definately lacking. I just don't care enough ..
I have no problem with the gamers who just use their headsets properly and want to chat to other gamers, that's fine. It's just the few,( or in some games many) Who just use it as a way to vent their anger when they are losing or their team is not doing what they want.king-kj
I think some forget they ever have it on ..
People whine about no headset users on the PSN, people whine about headset users on the PSN...BenderUnit22
People just whine in general .. no one is ever happy ..
Is there a universal mute button? I always manually mute everyone at the start of CoD4 matches. But yeah, annoying people on headsets are too much of a problem in general. Everyone knows that nobody talks like that in real life... of if you did that where I come from (I mean, the racist **** in a place like Cleveland), you'd get your "behind" beat before you could figure out why. Actually, we had to undergo "nettiquette" (I don't think that's spelled right) lessons when we first started doing online classes at school, learning basic stuff like... That text from another user is actually from a real person and you should respond online generally how you would respond to a real person. Just 'cause other people online can't reach through your monitor or TV and smash your face in doesn't mean you should disrespect them in ways that you, your family, and your entire peer group would find appauling on so many levels.
...ohh yeah, it's annoying. I'm probably rambling too much. (auto-censor my post, will ya?)
This problem is truely annoying. The little punk kids are the worst... you know the ones that haven't hit puberty yet. They talk so much crap to everyone... of course, if they had some real discipline they probably wouldn't talk to anyone that way. I actually had the pleasure of playing a game of KZ2 the other night where the only two people talking were in a clan together and they were just working on their team skills. One of guys kept talking about how quiet it was, and how nice the quietness was.jshaasThe little kids and even some of the adults who try to act like they could kick everyone's ass in a game and real life. A lot of times these kinds of people are the ones who talk up a s**tstorm online, but when faced with some kind of confrontation in real life, they would keep their mouth shut.
Mute option>Click>Problem Solved.
All hail the mute option!!
I think it gets out of hand when someone goes to the trouble of sending you hate messages on PSN like I had one time. I laughed.

However, not sure if file complaint's actually work. Yeh, listen to whateveryone here as sai, only use your mic with your real friends.

Welcome to the beautiful world of online gaming!
Luckily Sony saves us a lot of trouble; in most PS3 games I've played private games are still ranked. Some games I don't even play unless it's a private match because I hate their online community so much.
people enjoy trash talking.. its a part of EVERY game.. not just video games.. players trash talk each other in football (soccer), baseball, hockey, etc. it adds life to the game to be able to mess around with people this way.. so long as if you suck you can take it coming back at you. I've come to the point now where (for example) i don't play SF4 online unless they have a mic, for both trash talking, and for after the match asking about how i can step up my game or share with them how they can step theres up.
so long as there is a balance.. trash talk during the game, and then after you get the "good game man" or the "aww dude, i so should have had mvp.. but nice" or some form of compliment then its all good and people should stop crying about it

There is a difference between friendly trash talk and fooling around and then people who take the game too seriously and curse you out over and over again. I play games to have fun and not have some a-hole act like some tough guy thinking that cursing me out or any other bulls**t they do is intimidating. I think that is what the TC is trying to get at.I want peoples opinoins on this, IMO I find that Ps3 headsets are useless. i know what you mean i get it a lot on mgo mainly from foxhounds and other high level players if you own them a few times or if you get a headshot when their running they start calling you a glitcher and noob like wtf just caue im better than them and then comes the kicking
If someone is talking to much trash for your liking simply MUTE the person.
As for the people who play music...
I for one am one of those people at times. The reason I do it though is so I don't have to listen to everyones darn voice coming out of my TV. Sure I could mute the players but for a game like KZ2 where you are playing in 32 player games, I am not going to go out of my way to mute everyone in the server, simply takes too long. So I turn on my mic so I can't hear anyone talk and then I bump my tunes while I run peoples scenes.
Although at times if I am playing my music really loud I will just take my bluetooth headpiece and put it in a different room.
As for the death threats and swearing...lol, are you serious? First of all buddy has no clue where you live so the death threats are worthless. As for the swearing, tough luck, some of us like to use profanity
