So lately I have been playing Fallout 3, and I know it's a buggy game and freezes ALL the time.. So when it does freeze, I eject the disc, ( I have also tried leaving it in ) and then I hold the power button for as long as possible, but it doesn't do a hard shut down or a safe one, it just beeps, then like 5 seconds later beeps again and turns off and then every time I turn it on again it says YOU DIDN'T SAFELY SHUT DOWN NEXT TIME HOLD THE POWER BUTTON FOR TWO SECONDS SO YOU DON'T CORUPT YOUR SAVES OR DAMAGE THE CONSOLE Which is frusterating because I like the game, and when ever this happens I worry that I am damging my PS3. Any ideas? Can any one relate to this?

If a game freezes, just hold the power button until you hear a beep and let go. Then it'll beep 3 times and then shut down. Don't hold the power button for as long as possible.

^ yuh, just hold the I/O button until it beeps then let go. No need to eject the disc. I've had to do this many times. The message you get could be some kind of glitch message, I've never gotten it before. And if everything is still working as it should theres not much need for worrying.

Yeah I guess that would make sense, since I held it down after the first beep it probably keeps getting rushed to shut down. I'll try that next time, thanks

At least yours turns off, when mine freezes no matter how long I hold the power button for it doesn't turn off or even beep, eject button works fine though.
