Tales of Eternia = Amazing....

Wow....I just started playing today and already put about 5hrs into it~   I haven't enjoyed a console RPG like this since Lunar: Silver Star Story.. In fact, I get a simliar vibe...Anyone know if any of Lunars devs helped make this?    Everything is so damn polished it's mind blowing....I just can't seem to find a single flaw at all.  The combat is actually *fun* (uncommon for JRPGs)...Normally grinding to gain levels sucks, but in this game it doesn't bother me at all....Hell I'll even use the unholy potion to get *more* random encounters just to fight.  I love how they give you the ability to use a holy potion if you don't want a lot of random encounters though, very nice touch! 

Then there's the small touches they put in, such as the ability to turn combat on *auto-pilot* if you don't feel like controlling the fights....Of course at the same time you *do* control the fights by setting up each characters strategy.   I also like how they added a small clock above your total play time to let you know how long it has been since you saved.... A very minor thing, but also very nice.  

 I've played most of the *mainstream* PSP games....and I honestly have to say this is the best one so far.   This is definitely a *must buy* for any PSP owner.  I actually got my copy at a GameStop for $30 used....Although I would have gladly imported if I had to.   I see Amazon.com has it new for $50 (totally worth it) and eBay has a few listings from $15-25 (no doubt used).  Seriously people, pick this one up

 On a side note....  I heard this game was related to a PSX/PS2 game..... Anyone know the title of it or any more details?   

Its because its a remake of a PS1 game of the same title (and its also a game from Namco's "Tales of" series)

But since i think nothing new was ever added to its PSP version you cant call this a "remake" because of that... I wont get this (Since I already have the PS1 version)

Still this is a solid RPG for the PSP

Tales of Eternia is a awesome RPG regardless of whether it's a remake or not.

The translation seems to be pretty solid..... Although instead of "gold" they say "gald"....Not sure if that's just a typo or intentional?SuperBeast

No typo there... Thats what their currency is called in the "Tales of" games

This was the first "tales of" games i played and i have to say it was amazing. It fits the PSP really well. I actually went and bought Tales of Symphonia afterwards because i liked it so much. I never had a problem but i heard there were some copy's that had a glitch that made the game crash. It was after you beat Volt or something.
