Actually I'm getting more than the retail price, in the UK its £39.99.
Not to be overly skeptical, but since this is coming from the mouth of someone working at Rockstar, how do we know that 45 of those 56 hours weren't spent running around shooting people or driving off roofs (when it didn't have anything to do with the story)? Based on past GTA games, anyway, if you went straight through the single-player, it took about 12-15 hours max. So that's quite a step up. I'm just looking at it from a negative standpoint since everyone else is so excited about the statement. Developers always overstate the length of their games. I know this is supposed to be watching testers, but it's still coming from the developers.
even if it's exxagerated it's still probably at least 20-30 plus hours...now bad number compared to the trend today. most games max out at 15 hours if u walk slow.

I would say R* has to vastly step up their game if the storyline is actually near 56 hours, because in previous GTA games, the storyline was definitely one of the weakest points, so I don't know if I could play through 56 hours of one of their stories.

Isn't that the case with all GTA games if you aim for 100% ? I bet if you just main mission through the game it will take you about 10 hours like any other game.
didnt someone from rockstar say it was 100 hours a few weeks ago? :S, anyway i wont be finishing the game this year let alone "56 hours", i like to take my time with GTA games like i allways have plus ill have loads other games he he, but GTA games provied too much fun when your stuck on a mission he he :D
r u really beliving that it will only take 56hours to complete????????cuse it will take around 100 i read that some where else and with all the main and side missions it will take a while.....and in this article thats just 4 hours a day for 2 weeks...i plan on playing 8 hours a day for ever

Talk about lasting appeal. I have still yet to beat SA. And im no where close to 100% Although I have never!!! used a SA cheat. And I have like one or two missions left. I have tuns of planes and property all from Fictional LA, San Fran, Some in the deserts, to vegas. Also the dating and girlfriends in the game. Done alot of the side stuff. Got at least 150 hours or more into it. And no where near 100%. I dont think 4 will be as deep a SA. But I think it will still have a tun to do. So long as the game runs decent, and wont burn up your system lol. As many GTAs burned up PS2's in the past. It should be a value, at the vary least.
I have been needing a game that took up more than 5 - 10 hrs of gameplay. For those of us that have other priorities we like to spend money and use games to veg. Overly excited about this release.
