I realize there have been threads on this already, but this is basically the main reason I'm buying a PS3. Thoughts on content? I can picture a hybrid between their two previous games, massive landscapes on the scale of SOTC filled with structures as interesting and intricate as ICO's.

Looking at Lair really gets me interested to see what Team ICO can do with landscapes and architecture on this system. Seriously, as ridiculous as it sounds, it's almost worth the price of the system alone. When you think of how ridiculously big and ambitious SOTC was on the PS2, you can't even imagine what they'll be able to cook up. Awesome. Thoughts?

I predict an open world without load times much like SOTC, but not likly a direct sequel, That studio prefers games that don't direct cross over so they'll probably aim for something with a similar fantasy feel but do something different in terms of game play. I also expect beautiful cinematic visuals as they did spectacular stuff on the PS2. Lstly I expect them to produce a great physic engine and have very smart artificial intelligence.

To keep you from being too lonely in this thread, I'll put in my 2 cents. I think the game will be another prequel to ICO. I think it will tell the story between Shadow of the Colossus and ICO. I bet we can expect a large, beatiful environment and cool puzzles.

As much as I loved the desolate nature of their last two games (and I don't think they should have been any other way), I'd be really interested to see the villages of this world. I can't imagine what these guys can come up with for cultural customs, attire, and more modest architecture (houses, huts, churches). Plus, the natural landscapes you could traverse in between these would be amazing, as SOTC and Ico hinted at , these guys can really create a stunning and natural scene.

I agree with you that it won't be a direct sequel as such, but I think everybody agrees, and Fumito Ueda by his own admission, that SOTC is essentially a prequel on the same timeline as Ico. You could then see them moving into the future of that world and seeing how the cursed lineage plays out hundreds or thousands of years after the events of Ico.

Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be great. Shadow Of The Colossus is truly an awesome game...one of my favorites.

Actually you bring up a good point. their last two game have been very singular and solitary, I think it'd be great to see and actual fully populated town and how they approach gameplay in such an environment.

It just seems like Ueda has had this world completely delineated from the ground up from the very beginning and I bet he has these amazing ideas for how it all works, but (a) he wanted to make these experiences like SOTC and Ico first and (b) system limitations.

Seriously, can you imagine a sort of action RPG set in this world? Something along the lines of what Panzer Dragoon Saga did with that series... it might overly complicate things... as he's always said he's want a simple experience, but I still think he could pull it off in that setting.
