Tekken 6 possibly multiplat

Makes you wonder why every company just doesn't go out and say that they want more money and they are going multiplatform with all of their upcoming games.

That sucks to hear actually because I think Tekken was the PS3's only exclusive fighting game. Good one anyways. Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter, and Mortal Kombat are all multiplats. Now that Tekken has joined the mix, PS3 has nothing. 360 actually has the edge since it has DOA.

ya and its ridiculous....my friend ( hes a tekken fanboy) is gonna be PISSED to find out that he sold his xbox 360 for a ps3.

Whatever m$ throws its unlimited amounts of money at will dominate. They didnt even need a new system. They coulda saved the effort and just bought the whole F'ing industry twice over by now and there would only be the original xbox. Their 2007 revenue was over 50 billion. competition drives gaming innovation....with microsoft stealing all the sony's 3rd party dev game exclusives....there gonna some how shut down sony.

I truly doubt that losing a few exclusives would kill Sony because it has many fans plus people buy it for Bluray alone. Not to mention many xbox 360 fans dislike the d-pad and would more than likely buy the ps3 version. There was a similar poll about Street fighter 4 and if people liked using the analog stick or d-pad. It was a landslide in the fact that they disliked analog fighter games and hated the d-pad.

I myself will buy it for the ps3 because it'll be a lot easier to control and i grew up playing Tekken on the PS2.

Because it means that its going to be a watered down, castrated, half-assed version of what it would be if it were exclusive. The 3rd party has to code for the lowest common denominator, the xbox. Rockstar actually said they had to really limit what they originally wanted to do with GTA4 due to having to code for the xbox. This is happening to a lot of our favorite franchises. Instead of getting this ultimate real next gen experience from our favorite games like Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, GTA, Final Fantasy and now probably Tekken we get a pale sickly version of it. Thanks to the most successful criminal in human history our games suck, for everyone..on both systems.

Look what happens when you have an A list developer making a ps3 exclusive..MGS4. And observe another A list developer making a multi-platform title. GTA4. ..I think most of us agree GTA4 was really short of what it could have been. This is going to keep happening and the ps3 will never be what it was supposed to be..We just bought a more expensive xbox with no justification because m$ just buys everyone. I spent the extra cash to have a better, more capable console then the xbox..and it certainly is on paper. But we'll never really see that because m$ can pay for all of square enix's needs for the next 20 years for one **** port.

If the systems were equal and the quality of the games didnt suffer by them going multi platform I'd say it was great. .more people getting the games regardless of their taste in hardware would be good then. But thats not the case. Its like as if Konami had to put MGS4 on the gamecube as well as the ps3..would it be the game we know as MGS4 right now?? Take a chill pill. Tekken 6 isn't amazing hardware wise. The 360 could do it. The new combos that the game has are awsome and that is why this game is cool. Tekken 6 a button masher? yeah right you can play that way and lose. It seems like a good probability that it is multiplat since there have not been any hands on with it on PS3 but the fact that the arcade version uses cel and the fact that T5 is not on live kind of makes me wonder if it is true. gamenerd15

Well, given that game developers are needing as much money as they can get to stay above water, It would be sweet if DOA went PS3 bound. They did give Ninja Gaiden up to the PS3 eventually, didn't they. **Cough** DOA Hardcore**Cough** I'm Just saying, when the ends justify the means :)

what is a fact, is that tekken 6 is built around the ps3. heck, even the arcade board starts up at the playstation xmb before launching into the game. and the article the op posted seems to reference that other article from a shady magazine article a few months back. yeah... i don't believe it, yet. when we get more sources confirming this, then i'll believe it.

there is a whole bunch of legalities involving tekken between sony and namco. somebody on tekken zaibatsu was talking about it. I don't know the details, but from what I'm gathering from all that legal stuff, if namco bandai really wants to make tekken 6 multiplat they will have to pull a sort of "project origin" if you will to get it done.

in other words, drop tekken entirely and make a new franchise that's pretty much tekken under a different banister.
