I never cared much for Tekken, so I'm not really looking forward to Tekken 6. I don't dislike the Tekken series, I'm just not a big fan.
As for Street Fighter IV, I love what Capcom is doing with it. The art style is great, and the promise of a more traditional Street Fighter, combined with the great new look have me very excited to play it.
For polling purposes, Street Fighter IV get my vote.
SF2 is the father of all fighting games and SF4 is like a remasterization of it
SF4 FTW

We don't know that until it's played, because the new mechanics might kill the game, as has happened to some of the other entries in the past. Also, the head of the project didn't exactly do a glowing job with Capcom Fighting Evolution, his last fighter for Capcom.
I'm looking forward to SF2 HD Remix, because I really wanna see how the changes stack up for tournament play. I don't like some of the changes I'm seeing in SF4, because each one they seem to be pulling back from Third Strike, which I believe to be the true tournament masterpiece. I love parrying, and I love Super Art Selection, because different players use different Super Arts to make the expierience unique to them, instead of all of them having each one.
I'm voting Tekken, because I loved 5, it was very polished, and the idea of bringing that to the next gen excites me. If it isn't broke don't fix it.
tekken doesn't lack anything. If you people would actually learn combos and not button mash you would see the depth in it/
Street Fighter became old after the 10th billion expansion of the same thing.
Both are going to be good. If you're an old school arcade freak, you're going to get both
Tekken6 has my vote
I'd say street fighter but i'm very displeased with alot of choices they made with the game. It seems like a huge step back from third strike.sa10kun
For a minute I thought that no one in here was an actual Street Fighter fan, but once you talk about 3s, you know the business. I'm with you.
i grew up playing street fighter to and it looks pretty good but i dont no, i dont think u can put them in the same catergory.
to me street fighter is a classic and as it looks is keeping wiv its nice cartoony style but then u have tekken which went straight to more life like, to me tekken wins for a next gen fighting for its realism graphics and a great story line as the street fighter story line is like a hundred pieces of strings shoved together, depending which piece of string u follow.
so for realism and a good fighter tekken
for an arcadey and cartonish yet classic fighter street fighter.
end of the day like someone said i do believe fighting games are so out dated, it be great to see a game come out which is an advanture based game with the mechnics of a fighting game, thats what always peed me off wiv some games in adventure i hadf 2 buttons at most kick and punch wow. and wat peed me off in fighting games is that you always just thought in different parts no really story to them
i'd love a game where i had to go around and check fights out and see people to make the fights happen just like street fighter to the animated movie if anyone has seen it
This is a hard decision. I grew up with both games, though putting in some thought I think i will choose Tekken just because I think street fighter was always easy to beat then Tekken.vette68
Same goes for me, street fighter was easier.

LOL I know, right.
I've been playing Tekken since Tekken 2, and i must say it's Best Fighter EVER!!!!!!
Street Fighter is old and outdated, it WAS good but now it's just old and outdated.
Street Fighter IV all the way. Always been a fan of the game and the new game coming out looks awesomely different with the 2D and 3D combined.
I could not care less for Tekken 6, and have played Tekken for a total of 15 min in my life and I never saw what the big deal was, boring characters with no personality and a classic 3D button masher.
