Tekken 6 = .....what did I just buy?

Put it in and go to campain mode to try and play some arcade. Watch a 20 minute tekken history thing then I pick lee from the huge roster of playable characters, go in watch more cinematics of lars and then play as lars as he rescues robot chick then I get to pick again i pick eddy gordo and I play again as lars like wtf? then i finally get to play as eddie, i play 3 stages and then im against huge colorful goat that I can only beat by kicks on easy. Like how are they structuring this game?

I've always hated Tekken, awful game not a patch on VF, Soul Calibur or Street Fighter I could name at least 20 beat'em ups that are better than it :)

By playing Tekken 6, I can plainly say it has the best gameplay. Sorry guys: it's true.

Ive been a big fan of tekken for years, and i can say that it sounds like you are just playing the single player mode. tekken, like any other fighting game is about the player vs player, so yeah.

I know nothing about Tekken. I've never played it nor am I particularly interested in it, but I have to agree with hazelnutman. Going solely by your description I would probably want it if I didn't know it was a fighter.

I didn't like the Screnario mode but overall Tekken 6 felt dated. It was the same basic gameplay as before and long loading screens.

The loading is terrible. That chick is eddie gordo's gf? Christie was it?

I still want Tekken 6 just because it has a massive roster and its Tekken , will pick it up one day!

I dont think it can beat Soul Caliber 4 though online that game is immense. Itsone of the most fun online games ever and I button mash/ use all the charactors and usually win! Also i have the best custom charactors!

Every Tekken 6 thread everywhere has people complaining about loading times..... jesus, whats a few seconds?

Tekken 6 is easily the best fighting game on PS3 and definately the best in the series so far.

So the scenario mode is flawed with a crappy camera some very dodgy AI and an awkward control system - R1 to target? ( I switched it to L1 - much better imo)

I had Tekken 5DRO and trust me, Tekken 6 is miles better. The characters have all been refined and although customization isn't as easy, it's still good.

Online mode is really good too (here come all the whiners about 'lag') Honestly, I've had about 4 matches with lag and none of them were unplayable by any means.

To the OP, That's what happens in scenario mode, you need to press start on the map and choose character select to swap away from Lars, seeing as the scenario mode is all about Lars and Alisa (notice how you can't select them in the Arena)
