Well since this forum is sorta dead at times, I have a story that just happened to me today.  I was in the computer lab doing an activity for school and I hear the very distinct sound of the psp gameboot (the little 5 seconds intro into a game with the psp logo).  So I immediately stand up, turn around, and see another psp'er playing lumines behind me.  So I quickly pull out my psp and say, "so what cha playing?"  He says "ahh sweet you have one too.  I dont know of anyone who has one."  And that was how I made my first psp friend on campus.

Also one time on the bus going home from campus, I was playing my friends dj max portable when I look behind me inbetween a song and I see a cute girl just watching me.  She kinda freaked me out but quickly apoligized and wanted to try it out.  So I let her play one song on the easiest setting and she couldnt finish it but said it was fun.

SOOOoOOOoooOOOoo, tell us your psp related story.

EDIT: Dont just tell how you got your psp but some story (if you have one) that included your psp.

The PSP is one of the first things I got via my paychecks from my job. So it's a symbol of sorts. :p Got it last april I believe. I've gotten a $1:30 pay raise total in pay raises in less then a year. :P And I am due for a manger promotion (and pay raise) soon :P Symbol of my hard work.

I just picked up my 4th PSP from a friend of mine. He's had it since launch, and it probably has a total of 5 hours of playtime on it. This thing is MINT ! I paid $120 for the PSP, $10 for Ridge Racer, and $10 for Darkstalkers Chronicle. Not a bad deal... This is my fourth psp, as stated above, but I currently only have two of them.

This might sound weird, but I use my PSP to play bite size games. I play GTA:VCS radio stations in the pharmacy as an tension reliver, they got some funny stuff there. And at night when its not so busy, my night pharmacist and I play SOCOM online.

I have to admitt it, lots of girls are attracted to PSP.

I think PSP's are a waste of money and time. They have too long of loading time, it doesn't feel right holding it, a battery life of a camera, whats ith playing movies on it?..when you can just buy a dvd and have a portable dvd player. I don't get it, its dumb, I had one before and to is going to be the last. I hated it and I wanted to burn in a pit of other sony products. That is my experience of having one!

I got my PSP for free.... well my dad  found it in the trash at work so he brought it home not knowing what it really was.  I asked for it and he said I could have it.  Yay for me!

(My dad was in the navy and was on one of their cruises.  At the end of the cruise, they throw out surplus items like blankets, water coolers, etc.  Someone must have accidentally thrown their psp away.  He said there were porn on  it but my dad deleted them... )

My wife was in the jewelry store looking at this new wedding band she wanted because the one she had was cutting her finger. Well the new one cost more than twice the one that she did have and asked me if it would be alright to get it and I said "If you get it, you know what I'm getting" then she said, "we'll go to best buy right after this." So thats how I got my PSP.

Well, it was a cold winter's day...A violent storm was settling down as I set off for GameStop. I whipped on my coat, grabbeb my DS and all of my DS games, and headed to the car. After about a five minute drive, I was at the entrance to GameStop. I walk in, all cool like, stand at the counter, do a little lean move, and whip out my DS and lay it on the counter. Then, i break out my Discount card and say, "How much more after this will I need to pay for a PSP?" The cashier rings it up......$80. I take the bills out of my wallet and say, "Here you are sir." He then thanks me, grabs a PSP, bags it and says, "Have a nice day." And that is the end of my story.

Not really...I actually don't tend to take my PSP in public. I usually just play it at home. There's just something about gaming at home that I prefer the most.

Hm...i have a couple.

I was sitting in geometry (i was a loner since everyone was juniors. my luck that i was put into Geometry for my first time in a repeaters Geo course >>), my teacher doesnt mind electronics or something, so after i finished most of my work i hear the sound of guns coming from a handheld. So i walk over and see a junior (i was a freshie at the time) playing GTALCS, with a few other kids watching him. So i whip out my gta and challenge him. After a couple of rounds i kept whooping his butt, his friend asked to see mine since they concluded i was too good. (even tho im really not, he just sucked badly)

Another one would have to be last spring. So we got japanese foreign exchange students coming to our school, and some other kids hosting them. By my luck, i see one of them playing Lumines on mute while our japanese teacher gave some loooong lecture about safety. She was pretty cute too. So i played a bit of lumines with her, and never spoke to her again.

I have a story that happend to my friends psp. We were playing basketball on my neighbors hoop which is set low enough that we can all dunk really easily. Any way he goes for a dunk and his PSP flew out of his pocket and hit the concrete and got a crack on the button area. It was fine and still worked.

My friends were playing their DS Lites playing Mario Kart DS, I then pull out my PSP and started to play Ratchet & Clank. My one friend was like "...I shouldv'e gotten a PSP, Ratchet and Clank is my favorite game." I then started to torment him. It was funny. My friend got a DS Lite recently and couldv'e gotten a PSP instead but since I have one and my other friend has one he said it would make sense to get one. I said he kinda regrets getting a DS Lite now!

i dont really have much of a story but me and my friends pretty much played like a GTA:LCS tournament in the gym  when we were having a fundraiser speech. The ironic thing about it is that the top prize that the speaker guy was announcing was actually a psp. I kinda laughed at him cause the guy obviously had no idea about gaming cause he called it a PSP player.

Playing Syphon Filter has brought me back to great days of playing Halo 2 online with friends and since I got it about two weeks ago I have played quite a few good games. For me unlike many people though I have quite a few friends who own one (about equal with DS owners maybe a little less.) No great stories yet like the DS Lan parties at the Wii launch or on school trips where we did game sharing with Mario Kart but still good.

After a number of tests including:
Accidently drops from hands, pockets, bags ect.
Being chucked at wall in frustration after death in shooters
Various other attempts to destroy/crush in frustration... the psp is the closest system to invincible (besides possibly the nintendo 64)

This man speaks the truth. My PSP still works after so much crap has been done to it. Anyways, I was running home from my friends house the other day like "Weeeeeeee!" and my PSP slipped out of my back pocket and has a little crack on the screen now. And another epic story is I was parkouring (google it) with my friends and as I hopped over the staircase railing down to the parking lot my PSP slipped out of my pocket but thankfully landed on the grass.

A couple of days ago I took my psp out of my pocket and started to play DJ Max Portable on the bus.  And these two big black guys told me to turn it up even though it was a really Korean sounding bubble gum pop song.
