I'm planning on bringing the PS3 to a friend's house for a rock band party. I have a nice setup, all they have is composite cable inputs for the TV. Should I expect any problems switching back and forth? Are there A/V settings that I've forgotten about since I set it up several years ago?

I appreciate and tips.

I ran into this problem as well when i borrowed a friend's ps3. He uses HDMI and i used Composite.

When we turned on the ps3 it seemed to be coming on fine but no picture. Found out later that the PS3 is setup to use HDMI since thats what it was last on.

The fix i read was to hold down the power button on the PS3 until it powers off completely. This would reset the video on it and make it where compostie will pick up.

Cool, thanks! I'll play around with that. Think my biggest fear is that it'll work at my friend's but not when I get it home :P

I have a similar problem: I'm home for spring break and I brought my PS3 home. At school I had the audio and visual output through my HDMI but at home I don't have an HDTV so I have to use composite but I didn't tell it to switch over in the option before I left so when I turn it on, I can't see or hear anything. Is there anyway around this or am I screwed until I get back to school?

While the system is in standby mode (red light is on), hold your finger on the power button on the front of the system for approximately 5 seconds. You should hear a couple of beeps and the output will be automatically reset.

Ok thanks. And that's the only thing that will be reset right? I won't lose any saves or anything?

I dont know if anyone has suggested this but why don't you just bring your HDMI cables with you? or is it a problem of the fact that your friend's tv is older (and has no HDMI inputs). The PS3 comes with regular AV cables so I know that you can switch back to Composite.

Well I don't know about the TC, but my TV at home is much older than the one at school so there's no place for an HDMI input or I would of brought my cables home with me.
