YES IT IS TIIIIIIIIIIZZZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTTT. CANT WAIT. BUT HOW WILL THEY BE ABLE TO FIT THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT WILL MOST LIKELY OWN THIS GAME. SEPERATE VIRTUAL CITIES. HOW ABOUT A VIRTUAL COUNTRY, WITH JOBS AND WHAT NOT THAT WOULD BE COOLKEM92i wazs wondering the same exact thing. casue if you have people on your firends list but they seperate them onto different servers then u cant play with them. it shoudl be interesting to see how they will fit everyone in one world and not have it look like a stop motion movie

Then, when u want to go to the another city (server), u use a virtual train. THAT WOULD BE SO SICKKKKK.

But you have to wonder, how the hell is sony doing all this for free? They must be loosing some cash... Wouldn't most of you gladly pay like ~$50 a year for a service like "home"? Should sony charge for it?munu9
You obviously didn't view the keynote speech in its entirety. The basic stuff is free, but if you want premium stuff in your apartment you have to pay if you wanna play. This is Sony's virtual reality cash cow. They will make tons of moolah from that alone.

I'm just as glad I got mine at launch, but here's something worth a decent laugh. Someone on tv.com just said Resistance was running with 85-90% of the PS3's total power.Eman5805LOL
[QUOTE="george22gg"]me 2. all they can talk about is a last year game, Gears, while im chattin up MotorStorm, Tekken and flOw to them. the look on there faces is worth that $600 To be honest I sold my 360 with all my games cuz I took one look at the future and saw where it was going. All the promises in the world can't beat the facts....Sony is a monster at gaming.all my friends bought a 360 and i waited and im happy i did

Hmm...I'm not sure where I stand with this. I think the idea of being able to go to a virtual movie theatre with friends and buy clothes and stuff sounds great, but I'm interested in pricing. I mean if they're charging the same price to go to a movie, then franklly I'd rather go to a theatre, get popcorn, and put my feet up with some of my friends or put my arm around my girlfriend's shoulder. Again, I like the idea, but personally I'd rather pick up clothes or a movie ticket and physically wear them. The thing I do like is being able to get achievements for playing games, and if sony somehow gets past the whole "poster/trophy for the room" gag and rewards the gamer with clothing/movie/arcade credit, I can see it really picking up. Plus it would be good business: more people buy PS3 games to unlock more achievements for their avatar (worked for the 360's achievement system). I see great potential in this as a way of creating a big social network, but focusing on movie theatres and clothing is not how I see the future of community gaming. I hate malls to begin with, and the idea spending time on my $600 (+tax and the extra controller) PS3 shopping and attempting to track down girls (how many of them actually own a PS3?) is something I really don't want to do. Plus I'm going to have the fear that the girls walking around are guys. I think Sony has the chance of creating something great with this as long as they use it to integrate games and create a community based on those games...shopping and movies, thanks but I'll stick with the real thing.FunWithMatches
