People have preferences, deal with it.
However I do agree that a perfect 10 is clearly exaggerated. NO game is PERFECT.
A score of 10 would mean that it has NO flaws, NO lag, NO slowdown, NO let downs and above all NO room for improvement. And especially that last is in my opinion not possible. I have played many great games, games that will be commemorated in the ages to come, but I still would not give them a perfect score because there is always room for improvement.
But people get sucked into the hype around the game. See it like this, would it still get that score if it where on a different console and not a part of the HALO franchise (not HALO 3, but a different on its own existing game).
I haven't played the game so I can't give a score i believe it would deserve, but this is clearly not an objective approach to a review. But the gaming industry is big business, so I would not be surprised if some reviewers get payed or get some stuff from companies to sway a review in a certain direction. But that's business and you would do the same for your product when talking about a billion dollar business.
