okay so the way that I always play games like RE5, RE4, Dead Space, Silent Hill 2 (basically survival horror games) is to do my best to beat them my way the first time and then go through and beat the best way possible in preparation for possibly making a walkthrough. Now, in RE4 and Dead Space, that pretty much just meant finding the best strategy for some of the tougher enemy encounters, but in RE5, it also means finding the best possible set up for my inventory. In RE4, I could arrange my inventory to the point where I could fit enough guns, ammo, healing items, and grenades to destroy every living person in the western hemisphere and still have enough to take out the final boss. This game, while it does make it tougher to feel like rambo, has kind of a retarded inventory system.
Instead of having each weapon take up a certain number of spots (attache case style) each weapon takes up one space, with some items being stackable. While this does lead to some retarded conclusions (an egg takes up the same space as my sniper rifle?) it makes it necessary to prioritize item slots. So, I am trying to come up with the best item set up. Now, I always give Sheva the machine gun, because her precision shooting makes it a better for her than me. I never let her keep the pistol past the first level, and I usually end up giving her the rifle too. I then take the shotgun, magnum, grenade launcher and pistol for myself. Now, seeing as how I only need the grenade launcher for certain parts, I decided that I want the rifle (or at least, we can share rifle ammo since neither of us needs a ton). However, having four weapons, one stack of ammo for each, only leaves one spot open for both a grenade (or more than one probably) AND a healing item.
any advice on how to make the best of the 9 slots (or 18 if you count Sheva) that I have to work with?
