What do you think of the up coming big games? Here are the lowdowns on some of them.

Note: Update Version 1.3 is up and it includes MGS4!

LittleBigPlanet

Taking the platformer to new level by implementing community options into the gameplay. You will be able to create and save your different courses to post online in a YouTube-esque manor. After it is online, people from around the world can download and comment on your creation. During the level creation process you may also allow other people to help you create the level with you.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare

Finally breaking away from the old worn out World War II setting, the Call of Duty franchise is moving into the current times and will feature current weapons and vehicles.

Tom Clancy's End War

Ubisoft is taking the Tom Clancy franchise to a new level. Where as the previous games were either shooters in the first or third person views, End War is a RTS. The game takes place in World War III, presumably a result from the battles in the latest games. As said by the development team, the games graphics will far surpass all that is thought possible on any previous consoles, featuring great character models, better animations, and lighting. There will be actual locations available to venture across in the game.

New Update: There will be an initial single player mode that needs to be completed in order to unlock the full game. Once unlocked, you will be able to fight in an online war. The war will be managed by completing tasks such as conquering an area, once an area is captured by a group, the goals are reset and a new area will be chosen to obtain. The war will be endless, once all of the areas are captured, the map is reset and all of the areas will need to be recaptured again.

Skate

An open world skating game that breaks away from the traditional button mashing gameplay of previous skating games. You use the analogue sticks to pull of the stunts rather than buttons. In order to see what you did to pull off a particular stunt, there will be a replay feature. The development team said that they wanted the gamer to get the real feel of skating around the vast area of a city, rather than pulling off impossible stunt combos.

New Update: In addition to the already massive world, you will also have the option to skate in a course designed after a track made by a real life skater. The online is fairly simple, allowing people to come in and drop out of your game at any point. There is no split screen however, instead the developers are designing a idea that allows players to take turns pulling off trick combos. The game is very flexible, even to the point of allowing the player to pick on pedestians, but if you do so, you will need to evade the police.

Lair

An open world dragon flying game. In the game you use the Sixaxis controller to manipulate your dragon around the far extents of a land filled with dragons. As you approach an enemy with your dragon, you immediately go into battle mode in which your job is to battle the humans while your dragon fend off other dragons. The game will feature many different types of dragons, many of which will challenge the scale introduced in Shadow of the Collosus. The graphics feature both stunningly realistic shadows and textures. Other than that there is very little known about the story and multiplayer aspects of the game.

Uncharted Drakes Fortune

Form the creators of the Jak and Daxter series comes an all new adventure. You play the role of a treasure hunter, thrust into unexpected circumstances that leaves you no choice but to fight back. The game features an epic storyline with very well thought out characters. The graphics are no slouch either, sporting very detailed textures and character models, as well as a few unique interactions between the character and the world. The Sixaxis controller will be used in the game for such occasions like walking over a tree. There will also be trophies that you can display in the PlayStation Home.

Metal Gear Solid 4

Konami is putting the finishing touches on the latest (and last) entry in the Metal Gear Solid series. The game takes place at a future date than all of the previous games, you can see an example of this in Snakes appearance. All of the current videos, and information released so far shows the battlegrounds to be a war torn city somewhere in Europe. Through your exploits, you will encounter both friends and foes, most of which have been adopted from previous games. As told by the series creator himself, the game will look even better than the videos that were released to this date, which gives me a lot of insight on what the final version will eventually look like. All ready though, the game looks fabulous, sporting some of the most amazing visuals I have ever seen. Multiplayer modes have been semi confirmed by a number of resources, but nothing is certain at this point. I will update with more information about the gameplay and multiplayer later.

Note: These are just gathered information from multiple sites around the web, and therefore are subjected to change before their release. There is little to no actual quotes from the actual devs, however most of the information is taken directly from what they have said.

I will be updating the list with more games and information of the current ones on the list as it becomes available. Other than that, please enjoy and fell free to correct any mistakes that i may have made.

I'm intrested in finding out about COD4. I hope they get a clue and put voice chat on it too.

GRAW2 worries me. With all the BS bad port "tactics" they seem to have with the other games, and the constant delays, I'm going to have to see whether or not this game is going to be turned to crap like they did with Spliter Cell DA

Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Well what can I say, I got the demo and I'm loving it even though it's one level. I like the online rank thing they did just to keep us playing it. Also I've been waiting for a great ninja game for a couple years now, and I'll finally have one when I'm able to preorder a copy. Can't wait for June is all I can say.

Skate sounds enjoyable. The last skating game I've played was Tony Hawk 2... If skate had some online aspect to it... I'd probably pick it up if it was any good.

I am really looking forward to Rogue Warrior, Haze, Warhawk, Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Lair.  Really any game that offers alot of multiplayer options I am interested in.  I guess I am not a hardcore enough gamer because I still have real friends, whom I have met, that I like hanging out with and playing games on occassion.  There are few exceptions for a game not to have a multiplayer aspect.  For me, two player co-op offline and online is a must as is deathmatch stuff.  Also if there are bots and 4 co-op off and online it is all the sweeter.  Perhaps some of these new offerings will appease me.

I agree. I personally do not have high speed internet so online playing is impossible for me at the moment, so i normally try to find games with a good split screen mode. I would suggest you look into Blazing Angels, it has an amazing split screen options. Also LittleBigPlanet is another one to keep an eye out for, it has a online and offline  Co-op mode for up to 4 players.

After seeing the Trailer for Ratchet and Clank on the Playstation store I'm pretty pumped. The game looks awesome.
