all this talk of Kratos makes me wish i caught the PS2 wave... i had to google who the hell he was lol. im gonna have to grab this new one whenever it comes out.

I don't know which version of PS3 you got but I'd recommend getting God of War & God of War II before you play God of War III. Otherwise you won't understand the mythos of the game.

and therein lies the problem, the same problem i have with MGS. i have the 40gb version, so no backwards compatability here. and i havnt owned a console since the PS1, and back then my game was Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider and Syphon Filter. never played a MGS game, well maybe a level or two i think, and havnt even seen God of War in the flesh. kinda spewin bout that now, but hey, second hand PS2's are fairly cheap right? and are they backwards compatible with PS1 games?

Yea, ps2s are backwards compatible with ps1s. You can probably find a cheap one on craigslist.
