With all of these great games coming out, I notice a growing trend of only online multiplayer, especially with shooters. What's the deal?
I remember the good ol' days of Goldeneye for the N64. 2-4 people traking down each other, ambushing the leader, making that last-ditch suiside pistol-whip. Now we have Metal Gear Online and Resistance 2. Both are great fun and supurb games, but somethimes you want to invite people over to play. When my friends are over, they don't want to watch one person playing or take turns. We want to play together. The only thing I got for that is Little Big Planet and that Naruto fighting game.Once again, fun games, but we would rathher shoot each other. So we end up playing my brother's Wii or trying to raise my N64 from the dead so we can play Goldeneye.
Has the steriotypical geek-with-no-friends-who-never-leaves-the-bacement been in the developers' minds when they make a good game? Or do they just assume all my friends have a PS3 and an internet connection? Come on guys!........I bought extra contollers!
