  • Settings sheet which allows you to save multiple car settings.
  • New Spec 2.0 opening movie.
  • Improved UI response and usability.
  • Replay forward/rewind.
  • Mid-race save feature for endurance races.
  • Expanded online lounge features (narrowing down car types, shuffle races…).
  • Expanded Photo Travel features (you can now take photos of cars together with your avatar).
  • Added "NASCAR Pit Scene" stage to Photo Travel.
  • Added 11 new 2011 NASCAR models.
  • Added the Nissan GT-R N24 Shulze Motorsport.
  • Improved physics and artificial intelligence.
  • Support for the Logitech G25/G27 steering wheel.

Kazunori has also provided some information about DLC, which will become available sometime after Spec 2.0 is released and will include a "racing car pack", a "course pack", and a "racing gear pack". Stay tuned for more details on those soon, and thanks to all of you who sent this in!

Spec 2.0 will take effect October 11th...

So Happy!!! Just bought 2 - racing chairs and 2 - g27's last week and have another ps3 hooked up to a HD projector with a 10' screen with a regular controller...

wow, thats like half the complaints ive seen fixed in one update. I think its a shame it took so long, but that is worthy of the download. Every car will now have an interior view and being able to save mid race in endurance is fantastic. The latter means I may bother to attempt them.

Look at the screenshots... 1 of the crummy old school buckets does have a pretty simplied view with no steering wheel like you said however the C60 Courage Race Car which is also standard has a pretty premium view with steering wheel and green gauges check it out...

You bring up a good point however 2 of the 3 pics do seem to have a good quality in-dash cams where the other just seems to be a tacky crap / black interior...

I don't even use that view anyway but do understand the complaints...

When I'm on my projector with the regular controller I like the 3rd person view and when I'm on the g27 / racing seat / 40" Sony Bravia I like the view where all the you see is the hood of the car and open road but that's just my preference...

Well, I haven't played Gran Turismo in a while, do to other commitments, so it slipped my mind on what has what now. Also, it confused what you had typed there lol.

Huzzah! Reason after reason to pop it back in! The Endurance Races are pretty much the only thing I hadn't finished on the A-spec (my B-spec is completely done) - The save feature on Endurance will make a big difference to me, as will all of the NASCAR changes (they NEED to add BRISTOL as a track, though. Or Martinsville, Dover, something smaller than a Super Speedway. But I digress.

Thank you for the way-informative post TC. You are a credit to gamers everywhere.

Well they also said they were also going to add additional tracks however there was no information whatsoever on how many or what ones look at the link it says right there at the end new cars / new tracks / more... IMO they need to add more options / features to the track editor / creator because some people have made some pretty sick tracks with the limited abilities it does have if they gave that a hefty update that could really push things to the next level... Don't know if they will be include the new tracks in the DLC but that would be my guess because it isn't listed in the Spec 2.0 update info but everybody's complaints have seemed to be addressed in one way or another and Polyphony have seemed to have heard the critism and are addressing it, rather slowly but addressing it nonetheless, I'll give them a break they've had a earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear meltdown to slow down the process...

Did they say anything about adding things like cautions to the NASCAR, and a spotter? There are a lot of little things missing in their representation of the sport... But a small thing over-all for my favorite racing game of all time (and Activision's "NASCAR 2011" is really where I go to get the fix for my NASCAR obsession, anyway). Still - Can't wait to get the update and DLC. Money well-spent.

It's not really a nascar game and it never really has been but since they finally did get the nascar liscense then they should listen to those fans as well and continue to address it... It's hard to pack everything they have into that game they kinda went quantity over quality and miss the boat on many levels but there are alot of things the were able to implement and alot that they will continue to... But whatever I will continue to play it until GT6 comes out which is a long-long-long ways out...

Oh, granted that it's not NASCAR-centric in it's focus (so I have "NASCAR 2011" on m'shelf - LoL), but if they're going to have the sport, they should observe the essential components, and cautions & a spotter are pretty important to the whole stock car racing thing. Like I said, it's a tiny complaint. I really think the game is as good as a racing game can get (this is my opinion, and others here may vary, certainly, so all respect).

Thanks again for the notification about the release. I sincerely appreciate it!

Why would premium models get a downgrade? Know stuff before correcting others.

Oh wow... Finally the game will support my G27 wheel.... I don't have to use a 2nd controller to turn on my light, use wipers and change views. I hope the clutch will work better too.

dont u just love it? on subject though, im glad to see gt5 is being taken care of, i knew they would add these features in with patches and updates,m now a days we should expect that, cuz its easier. have a game might not be finished release it then patch the things up. anyways im glad half or more of the complaints are being taken care of, it shows how devoted the devs are to make us happy. i havent stopped playin gt5, but i did tone down my gameplay cuz i have dark souls, rage and resistance 3 which i just plat lol
