Just a quick question about Oblivion.

I have seen in a few gameplay movies that the grass first pops up when you're almost standing in it.

Is this the case? Or does my eyes just suck?

This is one of the small small things in extremely good videogames that annoys me so much that i end up stop playing them.

Just wanted to hear if thats the case.

Oblivion has some pop-in issues, but it would be unwise to put down such a great game for a minor graphical issue. It's not as bad as it was in the 360 version (which honestly isn't that bad considering the scale of the game). It's not like it affects the gameplay in any way.

That's true.

It's ALOT worse on the other system. If you want the best results, try it on a high end PC

I blieve the load times were reduced most on the PS3 even though it gives you better long distance vision than the other versions of the game.

I salute you if you seriously are watching the screen enough to say "Damn, why is that grass popping up so late!?!?"

you can but the contols are still first person style, they dont change to a more third person friendly style which i find annoying and it's hard to control the character, so i just stay in first person

One of the things that bothers me the most is why it doesn't offer a good third person view playable mode. I mean we players spend all the troubles and hours to level up, to aquire better weapon/armory, and you pretty much don't see them because you are in first person mode... what's the point?!!!

That's partially true. When you're playing, if you switch to the 3rd person perspective, you'll notice that your character has somewhat of a large radius of foliage-growing power... so when you're running through the hills, you'll see about 30-40 feet (game feet, of course) out that the yellow/green ground will turn to a blur, then a fuzz, then eventually to grass.

It's really not that noticable when you're playing... but if you notice it, it's pretty much one of those "Oh... that's interesting.. hmph," things.. and you'll keep on playing.

It's all about statistics, man... or just knowing you can make your character look good in the circle-button menu screen. I personally like seeing my character spin while being decked out in glass armor... ooooooh, shiiiiiny...
