I know that sometimes the fans on the inside will go a little bit faster to try to keep the temperature down, but this time it just went nuts. It sounded like a jet engine and I turned it off right away. I felt the back and it was burning up like it never have before. I only had it on for like 30 minutes. Anyone else experience this?

Must be hot in your place, I get my fan started if I don't have the AC on. It's very hot in California right now.

you did the right thing by turning it off right away. my fans started going nuts when i moved my PS3 from the top of my TV to the carpet floor. the carpet was blocking the hot air from escaping through the sides so the fans started blowing out air very violently. What I'm saying is, move your PS3 to a more open area where air can flow freely. Or maybe move it to a cooler area.

it's normal probaly just hot in ur room or ur ps3 might be dusty. u should wipe it down once a week to keep dust from building up in tha fan. it's summer time in n. carolina & after playing MGO for 5hrs my fan starts the jet engine thing. doesn't affect ur game though so don't worry man.:)

I'll try this as it was on the carpet. Thanks.

Since it is summer here my PS3 fans go crazy all the time during the day... :(

Im considering puting a mini fan or something by its side to cool it down

I have a question for you. Do you have a Metal Gear Solid 4 80 GB addition? My fans get going fast where I'm at, but it is pretty hot where I live. I'm wondering if it is just me, or if it is the 80GB's. So, which console do you have.

Mine goes crazy if I play for a long time. It's normal though.
