Did the constant delays turn you off of this game or do you plan on purchasing it?

I doubt the price will go down in a year, since the prologue stayed at $40 for what seemed like an eternity

I, myself, am on the fence. I loved Gran Turismo on my PS1 ... but I have survived without it since ...

If people were turned off by the delays and won't buy the game, thats their loss. I meanwhile will be enjoying this amazing game.

People have been turned on and off by the exciting news and constant delays about this game, but i can only imagine that once the game is released as promised, people would be happy and fork out that $60/£40 for the game.

I personally dont really fancy racing games but i am extremely tempted to try this one out,too much content

I agree, and my case is that I just bought Brotherhood, Blood Stone, and Force Unleashed 2 ... haven't quite completed Blood Stone yet and want to platinum Force Unleashed 2 ... and Brotherhood is going to take a while to finish ... so I am thinking "Do I really need to get Gran Turismo?" - I would LOVE to have it, but I'm quite busy in a gaming sense

The delay of the game doesn't really bother me because it means they're doing everything to make sure it's going to be a great game. I'd rather have that than have someone rush a game out and it turns out crappy.

Tough decision, for me I will be getting it. I am not a huge racing fanatic, hell I have not played a racing game in 5 years, but ever since I turned 18 ive been dying for a realistic racing game.

I think it's worth it. I am buying this game for mainly online purposes, I want some non thinking online gameplay to pass my time. I will play the single player ofcourse, it will be fun or just as fun as the online play.

You seem to have you're hands full atm, so wait a month or so. There is never a rush to buy a game, unless you intend to buy a certain game for mainly online play, in that case maybe. With GT though you have a strong fanbase, and I highly doubt GT will become casual like CoD and release a new one every year.

The delays didn't turn me off at all. I'm getting the Collector's Edition on release day.

I don't see how a delay can make you not want a game. It's the same game you would have gotten before, except better. My only decision is to wait and see if I get it for Christmas or to go ahead an buy it myself on day 1.

Oh, so by this logic I guess Duke Nukem Forever is going to break CoD's records in sales?

Think a little next time.

I personally don't care for the game, I might get it just to change up the genre in my collection and from what I've seen it offers great variety in the racing genre.

That being said, if the game got canceled tomorrow or delayed I really wouldn't care Sony just saved me $60 bucks.

For me, it's the opposite. The more the game gets delayed, the happier I'am. For instance, when Socom got delayed I was extremely happy, since it didn't look like something i wanted to play.

No, I think the wait has only made the thirst for the game even more. I would have loved some explenations along the way or even a playable demo. But I don't rely on the timing of game's releases for my happiness. I'll def enjoy it when its released in a few days time.

The best things come to those that wait!!! GT5 will be worth the 5 year wait.

Gran Turismo is not a game about racing, its a game about driving!

not turned off at all by the delays...while it was hard to wait the attention to detail and pursuit of perfection shown by the dev team in this world where games are too often rushed to market is refreshing. I'm stoked...actually awaiting the arrival of my newly purchased G27 wheel and wheelstand pro too!

i wasn't turned off by the delays until i found out that the day/night and weather cycles will only be on certain tracks.... call me picky but when you dev a game for 5 years and tout stuff like day/night cycle and realistic weather i expect it to be possible on every track, not just a select few.

There can't be a debate when people don't even get the facts straight; despite GT5 taking an eternity to come out, officially there has been only 1 delay internationally (the one recently), and a delay for the Japan release earlier this year.

to be honest with u, no it didnt turn me off, it matter fact it got me more upset and more hyped for it at the same time. the more they delayed it the more i wanted it. nothin really changed but i really do wish they had their release date set. but now i can be calm and assured that the game will be smooth and packed with everythin, cuz all the delay and stuff im hoping they did everythin they possibly could to make this game awesome

Why in the world do sooo many folks on here allow the delay history of GT5 to totally put them off to it? I mean that really is the silliest reason i have ever heard of not to buy a game.

lol that is YOUR guys losses, Sony will still sell millions with or without you, and every copy sold will be used for a long long time.

I was pretty mad about the delays back when they were happening, but now that's it coming out in 4 days, I'm very excited about it. I love racing sim's and this one is no doubt going to be awesome.

I don't care about delays as long as it's for the improvement and betterment of the game quality.

In this case, the longer GT5 took, the better it gotten.

Pre-ordered and purchased. Nov. 24th can't come fast enough.

Delays are good thing imo, it means that people are actually doing their jobs and getting all the little quirks worked out before they release it. I will also gladly pay full price for it

Delays don't really bother me much, as I can always find other games to play while waiting for a new game to come out. Just don't really get worked up about newly released games much. That being said, I will be getting this game sometime soon after release, as the series has treated me well in the past.

Doesn't bother me.

In fact, I'm more turned off if a game is released too fast, rather than one that suffers delays. Delays suggest that the Devs have realised they need more time to perfect their game.

In any case, I'm buying it regardless. If someone won't purchase it because they don't like waiting, then it's their loss.
