"In addition to the new PSP Entertainment Packs, the current PSP Core Pack will continue to be available at $169.99 (SRP), with an enhanced-design PSP in "Piano Black," an AC adaptor, and battery pack slated for September."

-playstation.com

so.. does that mean the $169.99 core package will have the new slim psp in black and still get it for cheap and still be connectable to a tv set and have all the attributes of the new psp?? also, a question about this new psp: is it only connectable to HD TV's?? if so.. it is completely not worth selling the old for the new.

The silver entertainment pack will come out first on Sept 10 and be the only one available for a few weeks at $199. Then the black core pack comes out later in September for $169. The Star Wars edition comes out in October. They're phasing out the current model completely.

The TV cables are sold separately for all of the packages, and they will have both component and composite cables so you can hook the system up to either HD or SDTVs. The video is capable of 480p resolution, but games will still be displayed in 480x272.

Hope that helps. And I understand that the E3 forum is a bit hectic, but please don't insult the other users.

It's lighter, slimmer, has an AV-out jack, increased RAM for better load times, and better battery life. The original PSP battery will still work and give you double the battery life, but it will stick out of the back. The speakers have been moved to the top of the system for better sound. The UMD drive mechanism has changed so there is no more flip-switch, and the memory stick placement has moved.

Actually, the Star Wars one is "Ceramic White", not silver. And yes, it does have a silkscreen of Vader on the back.
