StarHawk betais only 1.3 gb and guess how long I have to wait for it to download?

Go ahead guess. 30mins? nope. An hour? geez an hour sound like alot for just 1.3 gb, but NOPE!

314mins!!! :shock:FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU..............

IDK why do my PS3 has always been slow for down loading things from the PS Store, demos, videos, full games. Did it wasnt that bad. THEN I got PSN-PLUS and I've notice that since I got PSN+ the downloading speed has hit the floor. IDK why, everything else is fast and all of the PS3 updates are fast.

Its been 20mins and its only at 4%

I have Comcast..............

Try power-cycling your cable modem, and when it come up, power-cycle your router. Also, how old is your router?

Download times is the only thing I dislike about the PS3. I can download the same file size on my 360 in about 10 minutes or less. I hope this is improved with the next console

It's likely not your connection's fault. PSN just has slow download times compared to other services (Xbox Live, for example). That and probably a bunch of other people are trying to download the Starhawk beta, so it may take longer than usual.

I downloaded the Starhawk beta in literally about 15 minutes. There are too many factors in determining individual download speeds for the PSN, I don't know how it works...

I honestly don't really know what you guys are talking about. My downloads are fast as anything on my computer(s) and my consoles. Of course I have 40MBs a second download speed and 5MBs a second upload speed. U jelly?

Yep agreed. If your Internet is fine on other devices then it's not your ISP. PSN Store and the system itself are likely the culprits. :)

Hey I know what you mean, but its not that Im helpless in everything. Its just I dont know or understand the tech words. I know how to do the simple stuff, Im the one who had to connect all the computers in my house and keep thm maintained, its just I've never been a tech guy. I so even tho I do snd know how to do some stuff, IDK what exactly what they are called or actually do. I mean Im almost 20 years old, but I've never been into computers or tech, I dont (or never had) a smart phone. Im not a technology guy.

A GB is a big size for a PS3 file, it'll take awhile. At least it always does for me. That's one reason why I hate downloading games and demos...

Power cycle is the term used because what you SHOULD NOT DO is press a "reset" button in the back of the router and/or modem which will clear all settings (and render your network inoperable). Sometimes un-plugging and plugging back in the power for the modem and the same for the router clears a problem. re-booting a PS3 sometimes improves the download performance. You might be out of luck though because if it's the PSN, then there's nothing you can directly do to affect download speed (and that is a big file). The likely reason the PS3 doesn't support N is because for one, it is so new that there are not many standards around it. Also your PS3 would need a radio to pick up N as well as G (which is what most households have). When it comes to N routers (all you can get anymore), I stay away from Netgear and ******. Strange how Linksys is what works best (it used to be Netgear and Linksys would be what I would stay away from in terms of consumer/Soho G routers).

6 years ago when the ps3 design was finalised, G was the standard and N300 was still in draft phase (G+ MIMO was more common)

When the PS3 was designed 802.11n wasn't really a thing. It was around, but it wasn't something people had. I don't know why it's not in the redesign.
