I have been reading various reviews of the new Silent Hill game and almosevery single review complains that it sticks to the same old formula and doesn't break any new grounds. So what'so bad about that huh?

I mean i am happy the way all the elements of Silent HIll games fit, the fog, the evil creepy atmosphere, the sound effects, and i don't want some radical new changes which completely change the way i play horror games. resident Evil already messed it up for me by changing focus from horror to action and i don't want these changes coming to Silent HIll. So please enough with the same old same old stuff. But then again that's just me and i don't want to imply that all other gamers think like that so this is just my opinion about the same old aspect of the new silent hill game. But it would be pretty cool if someone has the same opinion on this matter.

I'm right there with you. I am very disappointed with Homecoming. I HATE and DESPISE the combat system. I love the fact that normal movement is dual analog control, so I can't understand why they didn't make the combat system dual analog control. That would elimenate having to go into combat stance with lock on mode and all that dodging crap that doesn't work. With dual analog control (like Hitman), you can fire your weapon while running and strafing at the same time. It also makes getting behind enemies much more easy. They also need to start making the Resident Evil games control like the Hitman games. I don't want to have to stop and stand still to fire my weapon.

I also don't like the level design and atmosphere at all in SH Homecoming. To me, Silent Hill 2 is still the best of the series by a long shot. It has the best environments, level design, and atmosphere, and it's the creepiest. Homecoming tried to be too much like the SH movie, which was terrible and didn't have the SH feel at all.
