Uncharted 2 is fun and challenging on crushing difficulty, Uncharted 1 is frustrating and tedious. Apart from that the two games are pretty similar. Anyone else agree?

I thourght that Uncharted 2 was a good game ( no where near game of the year ) But I thought that the first one was better because it had atmosphere and mystery but the second one replaced that with big explosions to impress the innocent

that is true, and Uncharted 2 also had an absolutely awful boss fight at the end. As far as story goes I'd say that they're equal. For gameplay, definately UC2 for me. :D
The thing is that naughty dog changed the game engine on UC2 and went all out, they added new guns, multiplayer, longer story mode and lots more so i would concentrate on the excitement of UC3 because there are rumours of it being the PERFECT third person shooter!!
Uc2 had better gameplay and was less repetitive. If only they fixed the horrible writeing never have i seen such poorly written characters in a game.
I agree. And I don't get all the complaints about the story telling, I thought both had excellent wrting/voice acting. Both games are epic, but U2 is the better game.Everything in Uncharted 2 was an improvement over Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

Stealth is great and all, but the AI was generally too moronic in this game to get any satisfaction out of it.The main thing I love about U2 is that there is much more stealth in it. I always loved playing stealthy. Of course the graphics are better, more variety in level design and multiplayer.

Still a big improvement over U1. It was quite satisfying to me.

You are not going to "explain" to me why the writing I think is good is in fact not. I guess I'm just on another plain of existence with what I believe to be good writing in a game, but I'm going to be fine with that. I'm not going to read your website. Trust me, there is nothing there that will change my opinion. I know what I like, and judging by the reviews (critics and gamers), there are a great many others that agree with my opinion. I believe it is a well writtten/executed game, period.does it annoy anyone else that in Drake's fortune the enemies take like 4 bullets to kill, and that a pistol is more powerful than an AK-47?
They are both great games but U2 improved on everything that made U1 great.
U2 was alot easier than the first thou, except that final boss was messed up
i dont know why folks are arguing over the stories in both games, theyre both very similar to me. mythical treasure that turns you into a monster...both times. nazis...both times. annoying final boss fights...both times. the pacing, dialog , and gameplay were all improved in u2. this series has become a hit with me. i love tps's and history. i still think the original tomb raider beats uncharted, but maybe part 3 can change that.
No. I think Uncharted 2 was more frustrating on Crushing difficulty, Uncharted 1 I thought was pretty easy most of the time

Really? I find that because the gameplay was improved a lot in UC2 it made it less frustrating, and enemies actually died when you shot them. :P
There was a subtle change in pacing that made a big difference throughout the entire game, They also opened up the combat, by making stealth an option and encouraging more use of vertically. SepewrathYeah but in Uncharted drake's fortune being able to do more than one combo was awesome.
I'm probably one of the few people who enjoyed Uncharted 1 more than U2. Maybe it's just because there is more Sully ;) Realistically it's probably because the first one was more challenging to me. That being said U2 is a more balanced game, and it does play like a movie.
As far as crushing goes I found U2's crushing to be way easier than Uncharted's. It took me forever to get through Uncharted DF's crushing. Heck the Plane Wrecked area of the first game was one of the hardest levels I've ever played on an insanity type difficulty. It was just too easy to die on. The fact that enemies kept popping up behind me probably didn't help.
