I am hoping that Solid Snake plays some type of role but, the game really needs Raiden as its center of attention. Especially after his performance in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots.

For the 100th time, "Solid" in Metal Gear Solid doesn't refer to the protagonist "Solid" Snake. Solid in MGS means 3D. Hideo Kojima himself explains that part. So NO, the next Metal Gear Solid game whether it features Snake or not will always be called "Metal Gear Solid".

That's always been what I've wanted. The Boss has such a cool story to tell, and it would expand the MG universe ALOT. I would not mind remakes of MG1 and 2 packaged together, that would be kickass.

i think another about Big Boss would be good. he is the one that started it all. maybe they could make a game that showed what he did from the end of MGS3 up until he made Zanzibar Land. that would kind of be a remake of MG1 and 2 though but from his point of view.

What happened to the rumored portable ops 2? That would be the continuation of big boss.

As for a full blown console metal gear...I don't know, the story seems kind of done to me.

No, No, they need to make a MGS game around the era when Raiden saved Sunny from the Patriots. I think it was the patriots.

And Big Boss did not start it, The Boss did.

Metal Gear storyline started way before "The Boss". It started when The Philosophers(New World Order) were formed and broke apart. It started when Volgin's father stole The Philosophers' legacy. As far as The Boss goes, her death lead to the creation of The Patriots. Zero wanted to achieve what The Boss always envisioned and that is a world with no wars, the world where the americans and the soviets unite, she wanted the world to become one again. Zero went too far with the creation of a "New World Order" after acquiring the other half of the legacy with Ocelot's help.

I think Solid was meant to denote the fact that it's 3d... and maybe a combo with Solid Snake for it...

Nope. Just 3D. Solid Snake had nothing to do with it. Solid Snake was there before MGS.

No way. That'll just make it another WW2 game and Metal Gear doesn't need to be involved in that "era" or gaming.

The next Metal Gear needs to be all new. Cast, story, a clean slate. Solid Snake has to be long since dead and it has to be about the fallout of The Patriots. All of that stuff The Patriots threatened will happen if they fell. It would have to be around that if it takes place in the same universe/timeline as Solid Snake. Some of the former cast should only make brief cameo appearances if they're needed. Solid Snake could be mentioned in a flashback, but no appearance. Everything in MGS4 was pretty much set in stone especially for Solid Snake. Whomever the new hero is, they could have (a grown up) Sunny as support.

That's the way I think it should start

Dude I completely agree with you. I want MGS5 to be set right after the fall of The Patriots and SOP. New characters introduced, old characters making a return and unfortunately and I hate to say that but a new hero :(:(. I want Snake to be ALWAYS mentioned in the game. I also want Kojima to change the stealth in MGS5 and the way you conduct it. I want him to expand what he did in Act 3 in MGS4. No battlefields. Back to military base like Shadow Moses and city streets espionage like in Act 3 but with alot alot more features. Revamp the stealth genre and gameplay and make the environments larger and bigger and espionage harder. Oh yea, one more thing, bring back the frickin damn main theme music!

Heres my idea for mgs5.

It should be a prequel. It should be the remake of mg1 and mg2:solid snake. You would start the game playing as grey fox, until he gets captured in outer heaven. Then you would play as a young inexpert solid snake., you would battle Big Boss, then grey fox, and then big boss again...

They could make two games out of this.. part 1 and part 2. Part 2 could be released 6months after part 1..

Better yet, part one, you would play as Big Boss, doing bad things, killing the good guys for a change! and you would play as grey fox also, then he gets captured.. end of part 1.

part 2 played only as young snake, doing all the things he did in mg1 and metal gear 2: solid snake..

What do you all think of my ideas?

i keep repeating myself about this, hoping someone at kojima productions reads this..

sorry about my english.

I'm sorry but MGS5 can't be a remake of MG and MG2. You would have to call it something else and not include the "5" in the title. It could be a prequel of something new but not a remake.

The battlefields did make sense in MGS4 though as everything was completely out of control. But in any case, (if it so happens to work out simular to what I've mentioned) it would be calmer to what we know in MGS4. Infiltrating complexes would be great, but I think it would be good if it were mixed up a little bit. Something like, you would have to get to the complexes first and it wouldn't be just one. (unlike previous MGS games that just plopped you there). Even a populated city mission would be great aswell. One where you would really have to use stealth skills to hide amongst the population.

MGS3: Snake Eater is a prequel and has 3 on it.. It could be called Mgs5: Origins or MGS5: Snake Primordium or MGS5: Snake Profectio..or something..

i would personally like to see maybe a game about ocelot through the years and maybe tie it in with the point where raiden was jack the ripper the child soldier, and find out how he met maybe solidus, liquid or garlukovic

A prequel with the boss would mean that there would hardly be any high tech weaponry. in the 3rd game stealth, nanomachines, and other advanced technology were only just starting to be used in the battlefield. Whats an MGS game without the kickass technology?

Either a remake of the 2 MG games or a sequel to the fourth game with mostly new characters. Older sunny, raiden, and meryl and johnny should make a return though. And as someone posted earlier, no infiltrating battlefields. Stick with the complexes and city streets like from act 3 in the 4th game

But prequels are so much fun! I literally fell off my chair laughing when Naked Snake and Para-Medic were discussing movies. Para-Medic brought up that one day, there would be movies available in your homes and you'd even be able to control the characters (which we know today as video games). Oh the irony of it all. To quote Snake, "LIKE MAGIC!"

I certainly don't want to see a prequel nor a remake of any previous release. Why? because in MGS4 snake's story was over and I don't want to see anymore confusion added to the complex MGS storyline by creating a prequel. I'd rather see a fresh new story and an unusual in shift in the gameplay of MGS5, that's what I'm expecting.

I guess Raiden will be the MC of MGS5. *to many's dismay XD* Actually he kinda redeemed himself in my eyes in MGS4 But I wonder how that will be...since he's a father now...?

Maybe his family gets killed and he turns to a vengeful demon, a very possible scenario, lol.

Definitely want MGS5 to focus on Raiden (always have liked Raiden, even In MGS2), or at least progress the story. No prequels or remakes please.

i'm interested with a remake of the old Metal Gear games (only the ones that Master Kojima made, i think there was 2 of them), i wasn't able to enjoy them before... i'm also open to a new saga, with Raiden on the lead or partnered with a new character and a new story... i hope Kojima will amke other games and make the most out of the PS3.
