[QUOTE="Khadaj32"][QUOTE="TheEldestGod"] Its almost 2 million per weapon from tier 1 level 0 to tier 3 level 100 assuming you farm for your Trapehedronz and don't -god forbid- purchase them. So for one maxed weapon for each character you'll need about 11-12 million and 6 farmed Traps. However, you don't actually have to max the weapons out. Its MUCH MUCH cheaper if you don't. Just get them to tier 3 and try to live with what you got. You still have to afford to get every other weapon to at least tier 2. TheEldestGod
What I like to do for cash in redo Mark Mission 63 over and over, the Adamantortoise. He drops Trapezohedrons for rare drop, and Platinum Ingots for common drop (sells for 150,000 Gil.) Even if he doesn't drop anything, you get a Gold Nugget for completing the hunt, which is worth 60,000 Gil. My favourite Gil farming spot.
aw, dude, that takes a lot of the pressure off! Thanks for the tip! I haven't even fooled with that mission yet! *turns on PS3 and positions self firmly in front of television for the next several hours*LOL, nice. Yeah, I suggest this, and I'm assuming you've unlocked the warp point at Sulyya Springs:
Make sure you have 5 TP. You don't need 5, but it makes the fight a quick and painless 3 minute encounter. Also, I suggest you buy Fortisol's and Aegisol's, tad pricey, but you're making more than enough to cover the costs with plenty of profit left over. Warp to Sulyya Springs and accept the Mission. Run back, warp to the North Highplains, where the Behemoth King and the big wolf are scrappin'. Hop on the chocobo, run over to the Mark, use the Shrouds, and get into the fight.
Start with Relentless Assault (RAV/COM/RAV) and spam Fire on the first leg. Fire is nice and quick. As soon as the leg is staggered, use Lightning's Army of One (or Fang's Highwind, w/e) twice, then finish off the leg. Your HP levels should be looking crappy by now. Switch to the other leg as quick as possible, and again, spam Fire. As soon as it's staggered, use 2 TP and pop a Renew. This puts you in good shape for the next Stomp and a Quake. Stagger the leg, Army of One x2, kill it. Immediately spam Fire on the Adamantortoise (if your Lightning or another character has Quick Stagger, hope it procs here. It's awesome.) As soon as the Ada is staggered, again, use Army of One x2, then switch to Aggression (COM/COM/RAV) and beat the crap out of it. You're aiming for the half HP mark, more if you can. When he starts to get up, keep launching attacks until his defences kick in, and he'll probably cast Quake. Summon Odin, hit Square for instant Gestalt, then Triangle for finisher (possible to one-shot the Adamantortoise with Odin) and this instantly knocks out its legs. Switch back to Relentless Assault, and repeat the previous steps. If you can't down him by the time he gets up again, then level up a bit more. After the fight, just run back to the Behemoh King and big wolfie, fight a few of those to get your TP maxed out, then repeat frm beginning.
That's my farming routine, anyways. Works well for me xD
Yay! My PS3 laser came in the mail today! Fixed it in just 30 minutes after that, and now I can't believe it works perfectly again :D Now to play what I should have been playing over the last 2 weeks... :DhazelnutmanHalelujah! Congrats dude. I hope you enjoy th rest of the game as much as I have. the ending is phenomenal.
I finally started playing Final Fantasy XIII today after finishing God of War 3 last night. Im only less than an hour in because that is only the amount of time I had tonight but I love it so far. It is my first Final Fantasy game of the series and I cant wait to keep playing. I know this should be posted on my blog but I just wanted to let the fans of the series know from a first timer that it is quiet enjoyable so far.
Hey, glad you're enjoying it :D If you're liking it now, then I can't imagine how much you'll be liking it as the game goes on! The entirety of the game is one gigantic build-up. It gets greater in cast, story, gameplay, and the overall experience. Have fun with it :)I finally started playing Final Fantasy XIII today after finishing God of War 3 last night. Hey everyone, its been a few days since i havent posted here so i thought i'd give everyone some helpful hints. ;)
First off: Auto-Haste, you'll most likely need it if you want to 5 star the harder missions. Get a tetradic crown, fairly easy drop from mission 7 (Bituitus) and level it up, the cost is only 1000exp. Once thats done use a Mnar Stone on it and level it up again, only 1000exp more. Then dismantle and you will have Auto-Protect, Auto-Shell, Auto-Veil, Auto-Vigilance and Auto-Haste. I suggest doing this 3 times for your whole party to have auto-haste.
Secondly you'll want to get a hold of a Whistlewind Scarf. They sell for 1000gil at Moogleworks if you dont have any. At first glance it may seem unattractive, +1 ATB charge ?? right... but level it up to Aurora Scarf and you start every battle with a full ATB Gauge as if it were a pre-emptive strike minus the stagger. The Whistlwind scarf takes a total of 525 to max it out as Aurora Scarf which is peanuts and you'll need a Rhodocrosite for this. Once again i recommend doing this for all three in your party.
Cheers, have fun, and i hope i helped someone in need!

Hey, thanks for that! I wish I'd have known sooner.I haven't posted in a while, and haven't touched the game for almost 5 days! Damn! I need to go get Gigantaur some time soon. Quick question though, if I max out everyones roles now, will I have trouble getting the 5 star against Gigantaur, and the last 3 missions? I'm wondering if I should try to level up or get the 5 stars first. I need to farm them adamantortoises anyway. I've been using low-level weapons by the way, will upgrade later for the treasure hunter trophy. And with that tip with the whistlewind scarf, do you guys know about the + ATB rate % some items offer? for instance if you wear 2 whistlewind scarfs, you get + 10% ATB rate. Which is why I tended to use those instead of the aurora scarf. The downside being you eat up 2 accessory slots, but if you eat up all 4 slots coupled with the appropriate weapon, you get +30% ATB, which is awesome when coupled with haste.Sphire
I beat Gigantuar by having Random: Instant Chain in all my main characters. And that's pretty much the easiest way to beat him. Once he's staggered he's dead. His Stagger lasts too long. In order to get Random:Instant Chain in your characters you need a combination of accessories and weapons. For example if you have Lionheart as a weapon and champion's badge as equipment you will get it.
If you have 2 Speed Sashes equipped I think, you also get it. With a few retries you'll eventually manage to stagger him immediately and it's a piece of cake then. It's not necessary to have it on all your chars , but it increases your chances.
This is a very good guide of synthesized abilities.

Ya thats the instant chain bonus trick, you could also add an energy sash and a speed sash to boost your ATB recharge %
On a sidenote, despite my new found accesory combinations, i still cant beat neochu, i spammed at least 25 deaths on him in 1 round with Imperil(supposedly it increases your chances) and still no luck, i even summoned Vanilles summon to help me out and heal my party to respam another 10 deaths and then i died... My last option would be the Belladonna weapon (improved Debilitating) . I'll buy it but is it worth upgrading to max?
@TheEldestGod: i know you were having some trouble with him too, did you end up beating him?

Nope. I stopped counting tries after 70 or so. I know I've spammed death hundreds of times already and I just can't get that sucker to go down. I even have a maxed out Malboro Wand which has Debilitating II on it. Vanille's magic is around 3000 with accessories. I just don't understand. Its the only option i can think of. Btw you know who else is a pain, Mission 41 Gaian Grudge!! its hell if you dont have deceptisol, then again thats the trick to everything.

I was lucky...4 tries for me. I actually Deathed him on the 2nd try, but then the little bastards wiped me lol...'twas my bad for thinking that default paradigms and auto-attacking would do the trick. Beefed up the Paradigms and took them seriously the 4th attempt, though.

Cheers, I guess that means I should level up. I've done the random instant chain thing, but haven't had enough power to put him down during the stagger time, plus he still does his 10,000 needles move thing while in stagger, which is irritating. Still...good to know.

On a positive note, i just beat Gigantuar, and yes the method above is the only way to 5 star the battle. Use Sazh with Procyons-->Energy sash,Speed sash, Survivalist Catalogue, and you have yourself an easy fight lasting approx 45 seconds. If only I would be that lucky against neochu:x

Have you guys done the Faultwarren trials? That's probably the only difference with my playthrough if you haven't. The top row is the toughest of the lot and is where I used Death for the first time. The fourth trial in the top row was mad hard for me, I was literally scared I wouldn't get through, let alone 5 star. But if you guys are maxed out role wise, you should fare better. The fifth trial will probably scare you too. Especially since if you miss a 5 star anywhere, you have to redo the trials all over(well there are a couple of nicely placed save points).
But it's where I succeeded with Death the first (and second, a different trial) time...and I know it shouldn't really matter....but I'm just saying...

The Faultwarrens were pretty challenging to 5-star, well some of them. Particularly the last 5 tier. But thankfully, the save points right before each boss on that tier is there, so just a quick reload and try again if 4 star or less. The hardest one for me was Neochu - I had to rely on Death to get 5-star on it. Of course, I 5-starred those before maxing out and upgrading equipment.
@passon13 - It just depends what you wanna do. If you wanna continue on with the story and come back to Pulse later in the game (at the end basically) or after you beat the final boss, that's cool. If you wanna goof off around Pulse for almost 30 hours like I did, you can do that, too! ;) I'd recommend getting Speed shoes (amazing for normal battles and 5-starring some of the early missions) - look them up if you want a detailed explanation. It involves either upgrading Tetradic Crowns or dismantling maxed Tetradic tiaras which can drop from the Mission 7 boss and various other spots around Pulse (like Chocobo digging reward). Speaking of which, I'd recommend at least doing Missions 1-14 for Chocobo access. The rest is up to you. You can start CP grinding, gil farming, upgrading weapons - so much you can do - or you can just continue on!
But just so you know, you cannot return to Pulse after starting Chapter 12 until the beginning of Chapter 13, but the game is fairly obvious when you are at the point of no return for the chapter. And after you beat the final boss of the game, Stage 10 on the crystarium unlocks which is pretty much required for some of the later missions and content.
i just got to grand pulse, DAMN MAN I LOVE IT HERE!!!!! i am getting messed up though. quick question the cieth stone missions, can they be redone? or do i only get one chance to 5 star the missions? also should i do these missions now, or post game?
bizzy420
you should complete all lower level missions, D and C missions, and dont worry about grinding too much, if you want to continue with the story and buff up just make sure not to skip any battles in Oerba and Taejins tower, theres a CP farming spot in chap 13 and thats when you should grind. sorry for the run on sentence.
OK EVERYBODY, i got the alternative to Cieth Stone Mission 55 AKA that damn NEOCHU. I 5 STAR'd him in 1:08 WITHOUT using Death at all! I gave up on that since im terribly unlucky. Here is my alternative, pay close attention and dont miss anything:
1. party members: Sazh(leader), Lightning, Fang
2. roles used: COM/COM/COM (Cerebrus) this is the only role you need! do not switch!
3.Equipment and weapons: you need all of these for this to work: Sazh-Procyons,Aurora Scarf,Survivalist Catalogue, Nimbletoe boots, Sprint shoes. -Lightning-Axis Blade, Sprint shoes, Aurora Scarf, Energy Sash, Speed Sash. -Fang-Bladed Lance,Sprint shoes, Aurora Scarf, Energy Sash, Speed sash.
4. Now before you begin the battle cast Aegisol and Fortisol only.
5. Begin battle with Sazh, manually imput Blitz twice and target Neochu. Rinse and repeat until you Insta Chain Stagger him, he will then be staggered at 999% and you begin the onslaught. If your party is in the red or if a partner dies you should summon Sazhs Eidolon instead of switching paradigms, Summoning an Eidolon instantly heals your entire party.
Why use Sazh? basically the way the Insta Chain works is that each attack you perform has a very small chance of immediately staggering your foe upon attacking. Knowing that Sazh wields dual pistols which shoot multiple bullets at a time his rate of activating the insta chain is greatly higher then the other party members. When Sazh uses a Blitz attack, each bullet fired has a chance of activating the insta chain as opposed to one sword attack at a time. The Equipment setup i mentioned above allows all party members to activate insta chain, but Sazh, having the highest chance should be the party leader. This trick works almost every battle. I 5 star all the 35-50 missions like this. Now its time to bring down Attacus.
I know this trick will help you so read up! and read carefully not to miss out on anything!
btw im uploading a picture of my triumph, i hope it works i never posted a picture before:oops:

Tinypic.com Upload an image, it gives you a list of codes, copy and paste the IMG one into where you type your messages.there we go, proof of my 1:08 Time and Neochu kill. You'll have to take my word for it that i beat it with my strategy posted above!
I'm trying to get the Growth Egg, but I'm stuck on Neoochu. How much HP should my party members have? I'm a bit shy of 7,000hp for most of them. I keep trying that death spell but it's not working.
Im at O Village with over 500k CP for each character when do you unlock Stage 9 in the Crystarium? I want to spend at stage 9 thx-Hoax-
You get it after you defeat the chapter 11 boss. Also you can go back to Pulse before proceeding to chapter 12 and grind some more. Because if you go to chapter 12 you can't go back until later on chapter 13.

Thanks Man!! does Stage 9 have Death because thats what ive been saving up for.Yes it does. It's in the saboteur role for Vanille. Also stage 9 and 10 (You get 10 after completing the game) need tons of CP even for the 3 primary roles, so it's a good thing you've been saving them.

i would wait for a second playthrough if you want to use my technique which is at the top of this page. i meant the fight with sazh's eidolon
i meant the fight with sazh's eidolon
I started out with both as RAV. Switched too MED/SYN then swich back to RAV/RAV or MED/RAV. I barely used COM at all for Sazh in that battle. It took me a few tries to get it that way, and when I did there was barely anytime left. There's probably an esier way but that's the way I did it.Im on my last mission,Mission 64, and its hell. Boss has over 15 million HP. I always take him down to half, approx 8 mil HP and he unleashes a deadly whirl attack, KOs my party... ahhh
Going to take a break from this, dont have much left to do in the game xcept beat him and farm gil and CP, all my Crystariums are 90% complete with less then a role left to complete..
Anyone have tips on gil farming?
