The Official "It's Not Overrated!!!!" Thread

Favor a game that one too many people are saying is overrated? Especially me? Well here's the perfect place to explain to us what game deserves all the praise it gets and why. Of course, debates are more than welcomed.

Call of Duty 4, one of the best FPS of this gen. People always seem to bash it.

I would have to say LittleBigPlanet. It's not just a kiddy game, at least it doesn't feel like one to me. What's wrong with having family oriented games that everyone can pick up and play?

I'm going to have to agree with Killzone 2. I mean I played the first installment and it was a pretty good game. I own Killzone 2 and I don't understand why it was "blown up" Don't get me wrong it has good graphics and has a story line that's easy to follow, I just don't think it should have been overrated like that.

When i got it, i was just caught in all the hype, so i thought this game was amazing.
But the more i thought about it.. it really wasnt that stellar. Maybe the story, but nothing else.
I mean, its pretty much the same as Force Unleashed, and look at the reviews and praise IT got.
Oh, and Force Unleashed was the most underrated game i've ever played. I love it to death.

yeah I have to agree about KZ2, was a good game, not that impressive, unless the graphics.

underrated I think MidnightClub: LA, it is a good game and GS said it was very dificult, and beliveme it isn't that dificult

Killzone 2 is overrated, I agree. However the visuals for the game were great; which is why everyone got overly excited, the storyline was bad and the character movement feels bulky and heavy. The online is fun; but for me after I reached general rank, I had no reason to go any further, so I just stopped playing altogether. I used to love KZ2 to death, but after so long it gets tiring and feels a bit like a chore.

Let me be the umpteenth person here to say that Killzone 2 is, indeed, overrated.

I beat S10 in Gran Turismo 5 P but couldn't beat the Camaro tourny in MCLA

GTA4 is overrated. Halo 3 is not, it is really one of the best shooters of this gen, especially in terms of features and over all fun with friends. Metal Gear Solid 4 is not overrated, It is not legendary but the game is great. Condemned 2...Does not get hardly any praise at all when it should. The game is amazing.

I have to disagree about Halo 3. Although it does have a ton of nice features and its really easy to get in a game, the gameplay just is not very much fun. It probably has one of the best online systems, but it's just not very much fun to play.

MGS4 is just ever so slightly overrated...but I still agree that its great :)

Uncharted, Fallout 3, Call of Duty 4, and GTA4 are all overrated. I'm not saying they're bad necessarily (though I didn't enjoy Uncharted much at all), but they receive far to much love from reviewers and uber fans without ever really pointing out their glaring flaws.

Mirror's Edge, Lair, Folklore and Heavenly Sword I think are all terribly underrated. Their flaws have been exaggerated to a obscene level, and the strides they tried to make in creativity and in being revolutionary completely over looked.

Most overrated games are The whole GTA series, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Call of duty, World of Warcraft.

Most Underrated games, Heavenly sword- One of the best combat systems i've ever seen. Dark cloud- this game did not get the credit it deserved.

Underrated? Everywhere I go, I'm always hearing stuff about that game. I played a little of the first and second and found it to be quite fun.

Call of Duty 4 - Best FPs this gen. Period.

Burnout: Paradise - Best racing game this gen and will last you for hours and continuous DLC will make you keep coming.

Both fully deserve there 9.0 rating. Possibly under-rated.

Team Ico is incredibly overrated. They have two good games, and everyone is all like, "O ma gawds!!!! teh best dev eva!!!!!" No, just no.

That being said, I'm extremely excited for The Last Guardian.

GTA 4 is *the* most overrated game ever. My mind simply refuses to comprehend how something that is a mediocre rehash of old ideas could get perfect scores from numberless critics.

i have to say that in my opinion i find valkyria chronicles overrated i just did'nt like the game i'm sorry to say

The story of GTA4 was good, but missions were outright boring and bland. There was practically no innovation if you don`t count graphics and the absolutely revolutionary/awesome/unbelievably interesting "friends activities."

CoD4 offered a different setting than it`s predecessors and fresh multiplayer. MGS games have tried to do things differently with every new game as well as adding new features. With "everything else in general" you probably meant something like Halo series.

Get more convincing facts next time.

Oblivion is not overrated.

Alone in the Dark is underrated.

GTA4 is overrated. It does a lot of things right, but its so boring I didn't even care to finish it.

Assassins Creed is overrated for the same reason, but it only got boring because of how repetitive it was and the story was lame.

Prototype is overrated because the gameplay, controls, and graphics are garbage. The story was ok, but it was told horribly with terrible dialogue and pacing.

KillZone2 is not overrated, but only because of the graphics. Graphics are a big part of the rating score, and you must admit that KZ2's were pretty mind-blowing for a console game. So, despite its lack of real story and gradually decreasing fun factor i believe the graphics really helped pick the score up a great deal.

MGS4 is not overrated. Its a perfect game, so it deserves a perftect score.

Valkyria Chronicles is highly underrated. The game as a whole is perfect in and of itself. I've never seen all the pieces of a game compliment eachother so well, and with great characters, epic story, innovative and fun gameplay, and absolutely gorgeous graphics this game is a solid experience. Should have gotten a 9.5 at least.

Uncharted is not underrated. It had a cool and witty protagonist and a decent story, but they weren't enough to help me overlook the crappy gunplay and broken platforming. The swarms of nearly bullet-proof enemies was a pain in the ***, too.

Oh my god, you worded it PERFECTLY.

heavenly sword seems a little under rated, not many people talk about how awesome it was at the time it was released the motion controls were the best and the graphics were the best yet to short of a game
