This thread is dedicated to anyone who thinks adding a 2nd anolog stick to a PSP re-design would be a good idea. It's never going to happen, there's no way it would work, and it makes no sense to do it; so stop asking.

Sony can't add more buttons to a system re-design, as they'd basically automatically screw over the entire present PSP userbase. If every new game that comes out from now on uses that 2nd anolog stick, how the heck are you supposed to play the game if you have the old PSP? They can only change cosmetics and small secondary functions; but if you add or subtract buttons it will screw everything up.

Multiple control schemes could also never work due to developer laziness and the fact that an anolog stick is more versatile than the d-pad or the 4 buttons.

Suck it up, it's not gonna happen. All the threads and blog comments must die now.

Everyone who wants a 2nd analog stick, just wait for psp2 cause that's the way you're going to get it...

PSP2 will have 2 analog sticks, because it is crucial that it does. The PSP would get a lot of revenue if it could get a full fledged, Halo-esque game on it.

Yes, but a controller is much cheaper to buy than a new system.

Just like the PS1 which didn't require you to update immediatly, but led to that eventually.

I agree with TC.

And unlike the PS1 the PSP is a whole unit - not a gamepad, you cant simply change the controls, and shun 25+ million users.

Actually it can... look on youtube... there are people who actually modified there psp to have another analog stick, and it works just like it would on a ps2 for a FPS game here the proof even.. but there is no proof that the psp cant have an another analog stick...NOW who has no common sense????:P

I wonder how people will respond to the proof that it can happen and it could work.. now that every one believes that it cant happen

Those videos look sooooooo fake. The first one you can't even see the other analog stick and the second one he/she doesn't seem to even move the other stick.

Yea I saw it ages ago...

Now try distributing it to 24+ million PSPs...

In theorey its cool, in practice it wont work. We still dont even know what having two on a handheld would feel like.. For all we know it could be incredably akward and cluttered.

edit* That first video is clearly fake, but yes you can buy attachable 2nd analouge sticks.

Actually, adding another analog is very VERY possible.

(idea of mine) When making a game, there should be a setting where you can either use the analog or the button.\

**end of idea**

since it's too late because Sony OFFICIALLY made it official, bye bye 2nd analog

Developers wouldn't want to support two different control types, it would mean more work for them.

You do realize that those analog sticks will only have up, down, left, and right movements to them, don't you? The custom analog sticks are not the same as the official analog stick, as they are tied into the x,o, square and triangle buttons.

There is really no reason to argue over something that is already officially not happening though, as Sony showed the new PSP and guess what, it doesn't have two analog sticks.

didn't the ps1 games that came out before the analogs for the controller became compatiable to use the analogs?

OR....

maybe for the psp2, they should add a little button what says "analog" next to it like the psone controllers
