The one and only reason I will never play Red Dead Redemption

Yes, it has a huge world to ride around in, I love open world games. However, it takes place in a desert...I live in Arizona. The desert isn't interesting, and the Wild West crap I've grown up around isn't that fascinating. To you guys it looks fun, when I watch videos of it, it reminds me of the old western films I was forced to watch as a kid and the long drives through the desert. You literally can't go down the street without seeing a cactus. You people want to truly experience the desert? Come down to AZ in the summer, you'll see just how fun the desert can be.

RDR isn't just riding around the desert on horseback. It is a game with an engaging story and lots and lots to do and see. It is based on the desert/western theme but there is much more too it than looking at cactus.

We don't want to experience a real desert. We want to experience rockstars great story telling and do things we can't do in real life. There will be comedy and having fun with friends online will be great, your loss. I'm sure people in New York don't complain about GTA 4, that is because it is based on real life but with a twist. Rockstar is satirical which makes the games great.

Yes, the western desert/theme I grew up with. I live in SCOTTSDALE!!! It was the largest Old West settlement, and the Old west crap has been drilled into my head my whole life. I can already predict what's going to be in this game, and the landscape I'll have to look at is a lower resolution version of what's outside.

For that reason only I think you should still at least rent the game.

Rockstar wouldn't be an xbox exclusive because it makes more money being on both platforms and GTA games were on Playstation before Xbox.

At no point did I say it was on the Playstation first. I stated that GTA was on the Playstation consoles before they were on Xbox suggesting that it would be a bad move to turn their backs on their pre-existing fan base. (I was talking about consoles not PC though I see what you are saying). Although they did screw us over with GTA DLC but realistically would you say no to a massive money deal, especially when they have no allegiances.

thats your choice, i mean its just a game, the surrounding theme might seem too familiar, but the game itself will be different, you get to do things hat you cant do in real life.

anyway if you want to miss out on this game go ahead, no one is gonna force you to play it.

this game felt more like fallout 3 than a western game imo.

i hate western movies too and its environments, but R* are gud developers;

they're good at turning boring old atmospheres to fun and enjoying experience.

i only rented the game, but it's definitely worth experiencing.

Why would I do that? Its all hot and sticky in the desert. I can sit by my tv with the air condition on playing a game based in the desert.

Where not actually going through the desert... we're just playing it... who say we wanna experience it literally... besude, it's not just about the desert... there are a lot of things to do, like shooting bandits andlawmen... so are we going to try that as well? now i have to get a revolver and a double-barrel shotgun. it's up to you if you don't wanna play it for your territorial reasons... we're not the ones who are gonna miss something really good!

I love RDR and I love AZ. I will be going to Sedona, AZ, for vacation this summer and it will be my second time. I live next to the swamp, so it is very different and interesting for me.

I hated the beggining, hopefully it will pick up, quite an awkward beggining to say the least...
