i dont hate EA. i hate Activision. EA made Rock Band which was amazing and they are making Burnout Paradise and Army of Two. Activision on the other hand took a PS2 exclusive (GH) and brought it too every imaginable console (PC, Mac, Wii, Mobile, 360, PS3, PS2) and they are milking the franchise like there's no tomorrow (GH Encore). and on top of that GH3 sucked (in comparison to GH, GH2, and Rock Band) and 6.25 for 3 songs is ridiculous. only good thing from Activision is CoD4 (thanks to infinity ward). but to answer the orange box question, yeah i'll probably get it. oh and another thing skate. was a million times better than THPG

I'm aware of that. However, I'm still enjoying two of those "lazy ports" in NCAA08 and ProStreet. So if they'd like to boycott EA thats all well and good, but I won't. Just saying.
I'm getting Orange Box bc I never played HL2 and I owe it to myself as a gamer and fps fan. Plus it is too good of a deal to turn down with all that content including TF2, which looks like it is a blast. I'd get it on pc but my pc sucks thus why I never got HL2 b4 and I'm a console gamer at heart. EA's port job and a minor framerate issue won't deter me from playing this awesome collection. The Orange Box, if it weren't being released so late, would easily be the GOTY for the PS3 imo. It's an amazing experience and the best deal in gaming history imo. Also, EA didn't make The Orange Box. They may be publishing it, I don't know, but they are not the driving force behind it. Take your misguided EA hate elsewhere.
Unreal is decent, but it doesn't touch the OB imo. I have both on the PC, and The Orange Box is the complete package. UT3 is pretty much UT2k4 with Gears of War skins, whether that's leet or not is up to you.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about Orange Box being "the inferior" version. gamespot has a good time nitpicking the small things in games that no one else notices. Even if it does have a few bad frames here and there, it's still going to be 100% playable. I hope their article didn't turn anyone away from this game. It is a very impressive collection at an awesome price.
And Unreal, that game is just going to plain rock.

Well I really want Half-Life 2 and its episodes on my console so this game is a must buy. After years of hearing and seeing how great this game is I finally get a chance to play it.

There's no real legit reason to "hate" EA. If you like sports games, you are more inclined to like them. I personally neither hate or love EA. I think their treatment towards the PS3 makes them look bias, but I also think they are realizing that PS3 is the future and theres money involved with that future. So EA will probably clean up their act a bit and become respected again, if they want to remain on top. If not, "Activision Blizzard" will destroy them...
I'll say this. Half Life 2 didn't port over to consoles well. I played the 360 version last weekend [rented it, own PC version of HL2] and the game felt like a PC game on a console. They didn't even polish the game to suite console play. The controls, movement, and everything about the game felt awkward and clunky. Not to mention it's a 2 year old game. Sure it's still a decent game, but pails in comparison of the newer FPSs like Bioshock, CoD4, Resistance, and sadly enough, even Halo 3 imo. On a side note Portal was awesome. Personally I don't think anyone should be buying this game on a console. And the fact that Gabe Newel [owner of Valve] continuously bashes consoles, especially the PS, felt that developing for the PS3 was a waste of all developers time so pawned the game off to EA for development, and fact he has little regard for us console gamers makes this a notable game worth not buying. It's certainly not all that bad but it's nothing more than mediocre to average at best imho...
I'm not a big multi-player gamer so I just downloaded Portal for my PC (I already have HL2, and Episode 1) for 20 bucks off steam and was done with it. I'll buy their hockey games if they're good. Other than that, there's not much that I'm interested in from EA.
I heard that thanks to EA the portal isnt a very good one which just ANGERS ME!!!! why on earth should there be any reason why the game jitters the ps3 IS MORE THEN ENOUGH TO PLAY IT it was just a crap port done by a compnay which isnt top anymore
I like EA. they publish good games. I'm looking forward to orange box, mercs 2, army of two, and burnout paradise as much as anything. medal of honor kicks ass too. and the simpsons game is surprisingly fun. That doesn't even include their past.
People just say they hate EA to sound like they know what they are talking about. The sports games are just sports-sims...how much do you expect them to change every year? seriously
What sucks is that the game is designed around TEAMWORK, yet you can't chat with your teammates. It's too bad that it's actually a fun game, if you're not on a team of idiots.
If EA release a game that actually looks interesting and worth buying then, I will buy it, regardless of the companies actions. I'm not going to miss out on good games just to prove a point. If I did boycott them, I'd miss out on the greatness of The Orange Box (PS3 versions problems are greatly exaggerated) and the upcoming Dead Space, which looks awesome.

EA didn't make Burnout Paradise or Rock Band. Harmonix made Rock Band and Criterion made Burnout Paradise. EA merely published it. Get your facts straight before you start bashing.
