The Playstation 3 WILL reach 6+ million units this years

With all the titles coming out this year , the PS3 WILL reach 6+ million units this year . It going to top the Chrismahanuquanza Day presents list with exclusives . Sony should get ready and start making PS3's for Chrismahanuquanza Day .

My prediction on an earlier thread was 9.1 million. And with the success in the UK, better games coming and another Christmas to go, yeah, it will probably reach that figure.

if they add vibration to the controllers and have vastly improved their online services I think sony could do quite well... but we will have to see gundamwing

Things to make people buy the ps3 -

1-Make the Browser better

2-Make the PS store better ( Get some more games )

3-Keep those exclusives coming

4-Make some new things like Home

5-Make Home the best thing you have every put on a system ( Just make it good and take your time !!! )

not really, the new 65nm chips cost less to manufacture, they're removing the Emotion Engine for software emulation which will also decrease cost and Blu-Ray is dropping in price as well as emerging as the winner. So they'd actually wouldn't lose that much due to those 3 reasons.

I think so too but is Sony still trying to reach that goal of 6 million by the end of the fiscal year? I don't think they have done it.bamf03

With all the exclusives coming out this year for the PS3 it will make people buy it . Every other system has only like 3 or 4 games coming exclusivly to them . The 360 has C&C3 , Bioshock and Halo . I don't even know what's coming out for the Wii but it's probably some children games . the Ps3 has MGS4 , FF13 , Lair , Heavenly Sword , The Getaway 4 , White Knight , Ninja Gaiden Sigma , and more . pdias_92

It's funny how you forgot mention Mass Effect, Too Human, Forza 2, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyessy, Eternal Sonata, and more... on the 360. :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Vibration will help cuz im waiting for my ps3 until vibration comes with the controllers that are included, im hoping its in by atleast september if not than i donno if i can waite anymore, but i think vibration does make a difference

6 million in the NA or worldwide? If it's the prior you're overestimating and if it's the latter than you're underestimating. I guess you mean worldwide 6 million. I have to disagree and say that they will get more than what the 360 had in one year. 360 got about 8 million, so PS3 should have atleast 9.5 million because PS3 sells in all territories.mikeslemonade

the only thing keeping it back at this point is the lack of AAA titles, MGS4, FF XIII and Heaavenly sword should help in that department, it has the best future game lineup of any of the next gen consoles.

i predict 10 million consoles sold by 2008.

 Well it's a given that the PS3 is selling more than the 360 life to date by a couple hundred thousand right now.  The PS3 and 360 sales are basically even when you add European, Worldwide(other than Japan), and United States.  Actually i'm giving the 360 too much credit.  PS3 actually has a little bit more demand in those terrortories.  In Japan after 4 months the sales for the PS3 is 800,000 compared to 360 that is 300,000.  8 more months that gap will widen even more.  PS3's worst case scenario will be 9 million units sold worldwide by the end of the year.  Blu-ray is the justification for the price.  It isn't $200 more for no reason.

the original xbox couldn't reach even 25 millions!! I can't see the 360 passing 30 millions so easyly.... What is the big difference between the original xbox and the 360? I can't see much improvements!!soldier1993
