hi to all...i just have this little prob

i`m might be buying cod4 for xmas...but...i have this problem with fps,,,i`m not saying it is true..its just that in my mind most fps have good or great online , but as soon as some other fps comes out to the market the online community goes over there and if u want to keep playing online u just have to buy that other game...is this true or is it just my imagination?

how long does the online community of a game last?

Call of Duty 4's online community should be around for a long time. Heck, there are still people on Call of Duty 3 and that game's online was stripped of almost every useful feature you can think of.

Well sometimes this can be true. At the moment many people are split between UT3 and Call of Duty 4 but you'll still have a fair share of people on both games. The next game that may move people from thoses games is Killzone 2 but that isn't out until Feb, so you see a fair share of people on UT3 and Call of duty 4 espically if killzone fails to meet expectations

Yeaa I agree in a way, but I mean alot of people'll be stuck on a particular game til they reach the highest achievable level, like me who's had Rainbow Six: Vegas since the day it came out, but I'm not even ELITE yet.

Like someone else said, if people are still playing call of duty 3, than there will still be people on these online titles for a while.

You'll see more people moving on to new games in the sports genre, but there are still a ton of people playing Resistance, and it is a year old.

I just put Starwars Battlefront 2 in my ps3 for fun (Its like three years old) and I found that there are still a good amount of people who play online, so i would say dont worry about not enough people being online.

COD4 just seems like the type of game that will last forever... haha. It's that good.

as long as there's a server for it, people will be online... unless it's marvel ultimate alliance, lol... i still see people on the old ratchet and clank games, too.

It is true that gamers tend to by "flighty" and jump to the next hot thing. But COD4 is pretty new, and hugely popular in the community. I am thinking it will maintain a huge population for at least a few years. Hopefully by then you can afford the next new thing eh?
