The PS button dosent light up because there's no light in it. You;ve have to mod it with your own if you want it too but other wise all the pics where you see it lit are only for promotional purposes.
I swear i read somewher that it lights up red when the batteries need charging.gregdrapes
The test units that all the major gaming media got before launch had the led light in. The button was lit when the controller was charging. You can see this in many of the "we just got ps3!" - stories/videos that popped up when Sony sent out those test units. Â
I read somewhere that the European version will have the lights, but I doubt it.
