ill accept 7 but not 5! 7 is minimum besides u really cant get much better then a harddrive and a system that updates problems with time, what more is their, teleportation ppads that send u into the game...

that's microsoft to release another console.....the ps3's cell is upgradable as demonstrated by japanese college students....so 10 yrs i quite right...but by 2012the ps4 will come out anyways...

Upgradable? You cant upgrade hardware with a software patch. Yes there will be faster Cell processors but then they need to build a new machine also.
they wont come out with a new console if u guys havent noticed what there doing with the psp and ps3 and 360 where they come out with updates.....in the feature theyll just come out with more updates and stuff u buy....theres no need to make a ps4 or a xbx360-2.....its pointless for all u ppl that wine about the ps3 price rite now u think that if they came out with a ps4 it would be cheaper than a grand???????no it will cost 1000+.....its cheaper to come out with add ons

With your logic there would never have been a PS3. Of course there will be a PS4 and another 360.
there are no software fixes for newer hardware!!! look the ps3 and 360 gpu's are already outdated, and the cpu's will be soon too. just imagine where pc hardware will be in 5 years, they have to make a new console just to keep up.

at least 5, Blu ray movies and games will really shine when people get a sense for its power and size. Easier development kits will aslo help developers produce some great games. It will be around for awhile

Not really. Games have been at the same price for about 10 years. The PS3 is not that much more expensive than the PS2 was when it was released. In fact I think I payed more for my PS2 than for my PS3 when it was new.
Of course Sony's going to have to release the PS4 in order to be up to date technology wise, but I don't necessarily think that they have to launch the PS4 around the same time Microsoft launches there next console. In my opinion following the same approach they had with the PS3 of releasing it a year after the 360 might not necessarily be a bad thing. If they decided to follow that same approach with the PS4. As long as they continue to support the PS3 for that 10 year total life-cycle that they've been talking about since day one. I would be more than happy, because abandoning a fan-base just to keep up with the competition is never a good thing in my opinion. That's one thing I really applaud Sony on, they never just gave up on there older platforms right away. Just so they could keep up with the competition.

i paid my ps2 500 euros....when it was first released...with endgame and 2 dual shocks
Lets see. I payed 600$ for my PS2 when it came out here in Europe in 2000 I think. I payed 650$ for my PS3 about a month ago. I did import the PS3 from the US though. A lot cheaper. PS3 will cost 900$ here in Sweden at launch 23rd of March.

You guys relax it's not like the computer world where a new model jumps out every second, having to upgrade again, no, it'll take time for the PS3 hardware to die out, then sony will launch a bigger, better PS4!

GUYS!!!! Microsoft has already talked about this!!! Stating they don't count Sony as a competitor since their skinning period will be much different than the Ps3's.....anyhow you'll see with time....i'm not mad...just take a look around the net...NOT ON LOUSY FORUMS...Official sites talk of microsoft already working on the next console...it wo'nt be called xbox3 just like the 360 wasn't called xbox2 because of the PS2's existance.....i thought you guys knew what you were talkin about...i'm outta here...sheez...keep talking about useless stuff that is far beyond how things are moving....see ya in Dec 2008...lol
THey cant MAke The 720 and IT will be released in 2008 cuz it will cost 2 much to make it and not only that the HArdware wouldnt be even much a difference from the 360, it will be like an upgraded 360. then they will need to get updated for the new technology in the Future. THen the PS4 will defenitly be better then 720
