The PSP Is Dead.

And it has been for a while now. Ever since the PS3 came out Sony couldnt care less about the PSP. No decent original games, not many substantial updates,no news whatsoever also a crappy "update" to the PSPwont cut it in my books (referring to lighter,less battery consuming PSP). I think Sony should give some thought to the PSP instead of putting so much unrewarded work into the PS3, since it would be sad to think a console would go obsolete just 3 years after its release.

You know saying the PSP is obsolete now is stupid since there is no other handheld to render it so? I console can't make a portable obsolete because they couldn't compete fairly. Besides, the PSP is still really great. I actually am looking forward to getting the new PSP (Mainly because mine is old with a HUGEASS crack in the screen that forks out in different directions). Plus I FINALLY got a wireless router so I want to start picking up some good online games and be able to play them without staring at the big crack in the screen.

Plus, ALL of the new and awesome-upcoming titles come out in winter, so we haven't even seen what they will do now. Some pretty cool titles lined up. Not many, but still some pretty cool ones. And i'd rather have a PSP with less, but better games and less updates than a little toy... I mean DS that pours out crappy little games practically ever week that no one really cares about or wants to play... Plus for people who use their PSPs for lots of multimedia and stuff it's a lot more convenient to even trim down the PSP a little.

Anyway, I think your post is pointless with no real... well... point to it...

PSP dead eh? That's why it is outselling consoles in Canada? That's why the crisis core bundle cost 409 dollars and its already sold out in most places? *probably wont last more than an hour on playasia, hope I can snag one*. Jeez....

The psp and ds are two godly gaming devices. The psp has some pretty good rpgs now and the ds just has some many good titles as well. People should stop arguing and just do as I do and buy both XD

I don't think you can compare the amount of games released on PSP and DS...

DS is currently the best selling console overall in Japan. Developers know this, so they make games for the DS hoping more people will buy the game just because of the amount of people who own a DS compared to other consoles. Upon this, the games are easier to develop for DS, lower cost which has resulted in a load of rubbish games being released.

As for the PSP, i'm definately buying a slim model... I store music for listening to during travelling, working out, just relaxing. I have a few movies on there for easy transportation, for example, multimedia projects. The games are not bad, but i'm particularly looking foward to:

- FFVII Crisis Core

- Dissidia

- Star Ocean remakes

Plus the ability to play PSX games is a real joy... especially FFVII during a 1 hour break at college!8)

Actually, God of War is NOT a port of the PS2 game. It's a brand new game. Then again, nobody expected you to do your research.

And no, Syphon Filter 2 is not the same Syphon Filter 2 that is on the PS1. Again. Do the research. It's not that hard, you can check out the game space at GameSpot by simply typing in the names. It's that easy.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 on the PSP is not the same Monster Hunter game on the PS2. By your rationale the new Zelda game on the DS is exactly the same as the one on the Wii or GameCube.

Also, if the PSP is dead then why is it outselling the Xbox 360? If the PSP is outselling the Xbox 360, then wouldn't that mean the Xbox 360 is also dead?

I own a Nintendo DS and a PSP, I'm certainly not a fanboy.

I played a ton of great PSP games at E3 last month (Syphon Filter 2, Pursuit Force 2, Jeanne D'Arc, God of War, SOCOM, etc. etc. etc.), and I played one great DS game at E3 (Zelda). That's it. You can go ahead and call me a fanboy all you want, but that's not going to change the fact that you don't really know what you're talking about. Let's not forget, you think that God of War, Syphon Filter and Battlefront are all ports when just a few seconds of research would tell you otherwise.
