The "Finish It, Already!" Thread

Hello fellow forum members...

I started this thread in response to a previous discussion about finishing games. I have pledged to finish "BioShock" this week and I've been puting in the hours, and finding some of the beauty in the game which eluded me on my first couple attempts... That got me to thinking, what game do YOU need to put into your PS3 and get'er done? Sign up here and announce your intentions to the community!'Cuz nothing motivates a gamer like a little peer pressure.

What game will YOU finally finish? And in doing so, report back as to if have you changed your mind any about the series or individual title by setting yourself and giving it that last push to the Finish Line?

I am big enough to admit that I may have been hasty in my dislike for "BioShock" (and here come the "I Told Ya So" posts :lol: - Go ahead, ya know ya wanna), and I think I will enjoy finishing it after it sat collecting dust since purchase well over a year ago.

I really got to finish Red Faction Guerilla. I got up to the last mission but kept failing. I also gotta play some Saints Row 2 but I ended up buying other games and just got tired of it. I now have other games to keep me occupied. Maybe I'll put them back in later this year but now I got 5other new games to finish.

I'll give Dragon Age: origins a new try after almost a year. I really like the concept of the game but I wasn't convinced by the gameplay. I love most of bioware's games, however and i just finished Mass Effect 2. So I suppose I should Like Dragon age too. Need to finish it before I decide weather to get Dragon Age 2, or not.

Infamous, RDR:UN, LBP2, MGS4, Psychonauts, Shogun 2, HL2:ep 2, Batman: AA, Grim Fandango etc.

I'm sorry if you only meant PS3-games.

Also, I still suck at CS.

Well, i dont know if this counts but im really close at achieving the platinum trophy for Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions so i kept telling myself " okay, this weekend, im gonna sit down and play through the last little bit in order to get the last few trophies, they seem pretty straight forward. " fast forward a few months to now, and its still not done. Now that i also have RDR on my plate, i dont think i'll ever completely finish SD but, heres hoping. :P

Im trying to finish gta iv but its so damn hard.

I have a few games I haven't finished, but they're still relatively new and I'll get to them in the coming weeks. But in my whole library of games, the only one I've had for a long, long time and never finished was GTAIV. And it isn't even just finished, its hardly played!

I don't know why, I just can't do it. I've tried several times. Thinking to myself "Alright, this weekend I'm going to power through GTAIV". Pop it in, sit down, get ready and... yeah screw this damn game. One of these weekends though, mark my words, I'll play that freaking thing to the end.

I have lots of games and have finished hardly any of them. I need to take it in steps by not playing too many games at the same time and finishing within a matter of days. Killzone 2 is next! Then co-op Killzone 3.

I think AC:Brotherhood is the only game I own this gen that I haven't finished. I have had it sitting right next to my ps3 for months but I every time I go to put it in I remember how much of a slog it was.

Oh I also never finished Motorstorm Pacific Rift but I have no desire to ever play it again so it doesn't count.

I've got a few on the "To be finished" pile:

GTAIV - Started playing. Trophy patch came out so I started again. PS3 YLod'd and I lost my gamesave so started again. Got bored of doing missions for the third time but would like to finish the game off.

FFXIII - Got as far as Chapter 11 and gave up in bordom. I'm unlikely to finish this TBH but I've got all the others so don't want to get rid of it.

Bioshock 2 - Just hasn't captivated me like the first one. I'll probably go back and try to finish at some point.

Just Cause 2 - I've finished the game but just need the "Wrecking Ball" and "Kill 20 people in 60 seconds" trophy for platinum. Might give them a go this weekend.

Looking back, I had problems with Alpha Protocol. When I played it the first time it just seemed... dull, the animations were awkward and it didn't feel like it would get any better. Stopped playing it for almost half a year until I had one of those 'I have to get this done' moment a few weeks ago and to my surprise things get a LOT better as the games progresses, so much that when I was about half way done I decided to restart the game to select a different class (soldier to stealth), which says a lot because games rarely make me want to play through them twice. Great game.

I had about the same experience with Lost Planet 2, difference being I hated it, every single hour I wasted playing it (its predecessor was way better).

Other than that, I'm still stuck on the last mission in Killzone 2.

(And a few games that are still unopened)

MGS4, I got to the last mission and gave up as it was too challenging, but hopefully now, I'll finish it from beginning to end.

Still finishing : FF13 and yea after Chapter 11 it gets boring. Going for Plat in this game

Darksiders - I'll finish it, when i have the time.

BIOSHOCK 2 - Finished it once on PC and PS3; I'm gonne Plat this game.

Uncharted 2 - Finished 3 times. Treasure finding trophies for Plat!

PS3: Yakuza 4 (Just Started Last Week), Star Wars:TFU (Just Started Last Week as well) Dante's Inferno, Need for Speed:Shift, Castlevania:LOS, DJ Hero, and DJ Hero 2.

I just got Tiger 12:The Masters and I am hooked. I doubt I will play anything else for awhile. These games can sit awhile.

360: Crackdown 2, Jericho, and GeOW2.

Wii: No More Heroes (Still Shrinkwrapped), Cursed Mountain (Still Shrinkwrapped), Madworld (Still Shrinkwrapped), RE: Umbrella Chronicles (Tough for me for some reason so I give up easily lol).

I have several that I need to start. I have 12 games in my collection, I have played and finished 2.

Most notably on the list would have to be MGS4.

I don't know why I have not started it yet, as I have had it for almost 2 years now. I just think I need to be in the right frame of mind and have the time to put into it. I know from past MGS' that if you only have an hour a day then you will not really get into it.

Uncharted 2 is up there as well. I loved DF.

Demon Souls, GoW Collection, GoW3, Dead Space, Resistance 1 & 2 also.

i have just made an hours progress on Crysis 2 but its nearly football time :S im gonna loose 2 and a half hours playing time :S and i need to get it finished to see what the fuss is all about, so far its great, many said it was slow but i like it, its excactly like MGS4, you have two teams fighting, and you are a lone wolf, and you have one helper (otacon in mgs4 is the noteable link)

but i loved MGS4 so YAY for me

im roughly 3 hours in now, gonna have to have some late nights

final fantasy XIII ,dead space 2, start Killzone 3 and little big planet

Yep. This thread is more about making a public delcaration to finish one of your dust collectors... Matt and I have a goal to finish our respective titles (me on "BioShock", Matt is crankin' on "Crysis 2") ideally by this coming weekend... It's not set in stone, but the idea is, to goad each other into getting off our butts and puting the nail in the coffin on a game because we're both serial-not-finishers... So we can publicly shame each other (in a fun, tongue-in-cheek way) and motivate ourselves to get one done.

So, we're both encouraging others to take public oath, pick one of your games old or new, and put in the stick time... And, in the process, feeding back what we feel about the game we chose and whether or not our opinions change at all. I've made an about-face concerning "BioShock", which forum regulars know I have been a bit vocal (to the negative side), about, and as I stated earlier in the thread, I here-by apologize for my short-sightedness and impatience with it.

(And yes, AG007, you may now gloat in satisfaction! :oops: )

So the idea is, post your intentions and then come back as you progress and report to the thread on your feelings, frustrations, and folly!

Hey I actually made a thread like this about a year ago and it really helped me finish all of my unfinished games.

But now I need to finish:

1. Mass Effect 2 ( i would have it finished but all of my saved data got corrupted and i was 25 hours into the game and I'm too lazy to start back at the beginning)

2. Ressonance of Fate (that game is so damn hard)

3. Eternal Sonata (i randomly play this game in spurts but i never really get to into it)

4. Persona 4 (this game is just so damn long! but I'm really close to beating it!)

Ibeat most of my PS3 games, but i want to replay a lot of them for trophies. Recently igot allthe Riddler Challenges in Arkham Asylum and the Borgia Flags in AC Brotherhood. These are the thingsi stillwant to do:

• Enslaved: Oddysey to the West (working on Platinum: still need the Hard playthrough, the orbs and the masks and 2 other trophies)
• Mirrors Edge (collecting all the bags)
• Motorstorm: Apocalypse (25 special events and maybe the 150 cards)
• Sports Champions (a few trophies i still wanna get)
• Motorstorm: Pacific Rift (vehicle specific trophies)
• LittleBigPlanet 2 (5 hours community levels, etc.)
• Gran Turismo 5 (just wanna play the game and grab a few trophies on the way)

Ok, I really like the idea of this thread,maybe it can help me get motivated to finally start finishing some of my huge backlog :P . I think i'll start small though so let's say I'll try to finish....Ratchet and clank:tools of destruction.I've already started on it again and it turns out it's a fantastic game.I'll try and post back later with progress:D .

Mafia 2.

I'm on the last chapter on hard difficult.

I've already pledged to finish Crysis 2 this week. I think I have 5 or 6 chapters left.

I would definitely have to be guilty of not finishing Uncharted 2. I bought the game a year ago, and played about halfway through the campaign before other games took my interest (mainly Red Dead Redemption and Demon's Souls). U2 got pushed to the backburner, but I'm hoping this summer I can finish it off.

I got to the very last fight with Bohan in Heavenly Sword & Bohan/the controls got to me.....& so here we are. By the way, I had Heavenly Sword since the day it dropped.

I need to finish Dragon Age II. I haven't even gotten out of the First Act yet. I've been sidetracked by all the quests and side missions.

Only have two games to beat on ps3 and there GTA IV complete and ultimate alliance 2 and both were bought last week, i usually finish all games i buy before playing another.

Got a few to beat on the wii but im just not that into my wii so hardly ever play it.

One of these days, when I don't have work or classes, I should just sit down and play these games all day, uninterrupted. I gave myself too much to do, though...

Battlefield Bad Company 2. I actually finished it earlier today, and I hadn't picked up on campaign since... I dunno, late June? And I was in the middle of the game (The South American jungle ones) and kept dying (On Normal, xD), so I just stopped and started MP, and got waaaay better, but still didn't pick up the campaign, until three days ago, when I restarted the campaign up on Hard. Finished it in about 4-5 hours combined of gameplay, I think.

I've finished all of my games. 8)

I'm ashamed to post just how many games I need to finish. Over the past few months, I have been guilty of buying games and then shelving them for new games. I need to finish:

Uncharted 2

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Mass Effect 2

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
