Which games so far have given you the wow factor. Somethin like a graphic or physics piece that has made you say out loud something like 'wow' or 'that is really cool'.
One of mine was on Drake's Fortune, the way his clothes got wet in the water and then dried off. Only little but I thought it was really cool at the time.barnsey_123

- Gears of War: really, the first game to make me feel like I was in the next-generation. The single player campaign was very short and the multiplayer, IMO (no flames, please!), not very fun. But the Downpour level really wowed me.
- Bioshock: The character models were a little cartoony, but the environments in this game really impressed me.
- Dead Rising: My dream of finally living out George A Romero's Dawn of the Dead came true when I bought this one... and all those zombies on screen at once with no slowdown? Excuse me... :wipes tear:
- Oblivion: Corrected nearly everything that was wrong with Morrowind... they streamlined the series a little too much, but man what a great 100 hours that was. I've already started anew three or four times in this one.
- Civilization IV: Going to PC here, but whatever. I loved Civilization III, but Civ IV scaled back the micromanagement without losing the depth that the series is built upon.
- Call Of Duty 4: The online play is simply epic. I haven't had this much fun with online gaming since playing Doom deathmatches back in the Dark Ages.
- Doom: The game that made me beg my parents to buy a PC.
- GTA III: This game really expanded my horizons as to what was possible in games. I'd more or less stopped playing consoles until I played this at my cousin's house on Thanksgiving a few years back.
- Final Fantasy VII: Speaking of expanded horizons... the first game that made me feel something.
There's dozens, really, but I figure you meant this gen and I've tired myself out so I'm going to go take a nap. lol.
