Exactlies! But, I think if I had a 13 year old, and knowing that I'm into video games and I know what its all about. I'd let him play it.Would you let your 13-year-old son go to a strip club?
No.
Then should you let your 13-year-old son play games that allow him to go to strip clubs and see what happens there?
No.
If this is among the things counting as their first exposure to sexuality, they're going to get a very warped view of gender relations, women, and sexuality itself.
Why? Nudity is often portrayed in a degrading and objectifying way (and often accompanied with depictions of violence against women), whereas violence itself is often portrayed in a justified "save humanity" way.Ill never respect anyone that thinks nudity is worse then violence.

Oh yeah, your right i forgot about him at first, in which case because your special Tomrock, no you cannot play this game.I loled when I saw Tomrock made this topic.

How can you be so sure about that? Some young people are pretty smart and mature for their age... Even if they're not, I don't think the harm done would be that great... Reality is not all black and white.

Smart and mature has nothing to do with it. The fact is, we human learn by example. What becomes normal, accepted, and even to an extent attractive to us is what we are socialised to believe is ok, normal, or the proper way to relate to people. You want to know why there are men who beat women or act violently towards women? Look at their upbringing. You'll very often find that they lived in a household in which their father beat their mother in front of them. It has nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with socialisation. If someone wants their male child who is just entering puberty to have synthetic females created by men who take off their clothes for money to be among their child's first exposures to sexuality, then maybe they should have their children taken away from them. It's completely inappropriate, and frankly, rather dangerous to his future ability to relate to girls. It may harm his ability to have meaningful relationships if he's exposed at such a young age to such hyper-sexualised, unrealistic, depictions of women with the male-female relationship being reduced to merely sex-for-money. I'm just saying that while it has never been established in studies that violent movies and video games lead to long-term violent behaviour, it HAS been established that exposure to pornographic images and movies leads to sexual violence against women. When you're talking about violence in video games, it's usually about killing aliens or zombies or nazis, or zombie nazis... or very clearly evil guys. The person represented is usually fictional and/or mythologised to the point that they are deserving of killing. However, when nudity/pornography is involved, the person represented is nearly always female, and this can be dangerous because they're identifiable and real... and historically have been extremely oppressed because of attitudes of domination amongst men -- views that women are only good for sex. So when the most common depictions of women are as merely sex objects, that may contribute to REAL PEOPLE being oppressed. Conversely, when aliens or zombies are depicted as getting massacred, well that's certainly too bad for any potential aliens that might exist, but it has no real-life consequences.[QUOTE="bloodling"][QUOTE="clicketyclick"]

What you call socialisation is a form of intelligence. It can/could very well be harmful as you said, but it's not guaranteed. Good parenting should always come before parenting through video games.

You've very correct that it's not guaranteed. Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to human behaviour. Everything is statistical. The idea though is that when the statistics show that something is very likely to be damaging, it is best to avoid exposure to it, just in case you might be one among the percent of people who are affected by it.
The socialisation I describe is not a form of intelligence. It's our biological nature. Higher order animals and babies learn by imitation... and we do too, it's just that babies haven't yet developed their prefrontal cortex that'll allow them to suppress their imitative actions. It's just wrong to think that only unintelligent people can't socialise properly. Psychopaths, for example, are often highly functioning individuals, but are completely dysfunctional in society (and are almost all men.)
As kids grow older, parental influence lessens. That means it becomes increasingly difficult for parents to instill values into their children and instead, peer groups, school, and the media affect them more. It's easier said than done to say that good parenting and teaching your kids right from wrong could prevent any harmful attitudes from developing, and I think it kind of unfairly blames parents.
But in any case, good parenting does often involve not allowing your kids to be exposed to something for which they may not be ready. I think that at age 13, your most significant brushes with sexuality should be slow-dancing with Cindy and getting to kiss her on the lips... rather than walking around in a strip club with half-naked women taking their clothes off for men and dancing on them for money.
You have to pay extra to view nudity in the game, and if you really want to see animated boobs, we have google for a reason. You'll be fine.
