I've seen PSP's called:

PSP 2000

PSP 2001

Are PSP 2000 and PSP 2001 the same thing? Or is one newer than the other?

one is psp 2001 and one is 1001 2001 =slim 1001 ="phat"

All I can tell you is that I got the Daxter one and the serial number on the bottom ends with PSP2001. So, if the piano black ones end with a different number, than my only guess is that PSP2001 refers to the silver colored ones.

The ending is regional, Japanese ones should be a zero-ending, based on my knowledge.
