Although I havn't gotten many games- I would have to say: GTA: VCS Lumines 2 Killzone Loco Roco Daxter (I would of put ratchet as well as MGS - but they are not out in Australia yet :()
yeah its very simple, go to the gamespot 'PSP' page, located a few boxes to the left of 'home', click 'top games' underneath that when the page loads, and then you may peruse the selection of the very best games over the last 6 months, 12 months or 'all-time'. That, is how one sees the best.
daxter was a fun platformer and i am pickng up r & c soon Syphon filter was pretty good it is a shooter, as well as mgs po(amazing especially if you like the series) lumines was fun for a while untill i beat all the puzzles than i never played again i want burnout dominator, tekken, killzone, r&c, and some form of final fantasy.(i want a puzzle game if anyone knows of any please post)
My fav 3 are Wipeout Pure, Lumines, and Tekken in that order. I did also think the tiger woods games were ok. Overall the psp has been dissapointing for me, I loved those 3 games, but the only reason i am keeping it is waiting for Final fantasy and when i get a ps3 the ability to play ps1 games on psp.
hmmn if you just got a psp i suggest you download a snes emulator and go to rom world and get some snes roms i suggest chrono trigger and thew final fantsy series because the roms are free and chrono trigger is better than most ps2 games today!!!
but if youv got the cash to buy 5 top games (i sure dont lol) i suggest metal gear portable ops,sid meirs pirates,burnout legends,metal gear acid(some people say its bad but they cant get it through their heads that its not meant to be like the others and accept it for what it is you really enjoy it)and nfs carbon.

You should also check out Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Wipeout Pure and Rachet and Clank: Size Matters (which should make this list but I haven't played it yet.

Just had to quote wut u said cuz chronotrigger is my favorite rpg of all time and my favorite snes game.
Haven't really played all the games but my top 5 are:
1. Socom FTB 2 ( need to get it still) 2. Monster Hunter Freedoms 3. Killzone Liberation 4. Call of Duty ( im expecting it to be good ) 5. MGS: PO ( dont like the controls but its ok game )
