seriously, GTA games will soon run dead if they dont change it up and making GTA 4 or GTA 5 a mmpog will bring new life to it and make a whole new and better experience where the players create the story. With all the updates and downloads possible, the game would never end. I had this whole idea sketched out to the last detai since Vice City came out. players would start at the bottom and work their way up to taking over the city or their choice. there would be multipal cities they could travel to by the way. Players creating and recuirting their own gangs/members, or have the choice to be a good guy or a bad guy (examples: cop, mob, street gang, normal citizen). It would be a game where you could choose which way to go, good or bad. There are so much you could do with this idea, its endless and it would be the biggest game ever.
Now most bring up about people creating to much chaos and stuff and ruining someone elses plans like crashing a plane into their car or something. well there could be a system where someone is noted as just cuasing chaos and be booted from the server or sniper shot to make them start over or something. but since this would be such a huge world and so many players (i say up to like 100 per game server), the chances of making that much chaos is next to impossible.
There is no doubt GTA 4 will have online play. It would be a terrible mistake not to. IMO, GTA is one of the established franchises with an amazing amount of potential to have truly "next-gen" gameplay. I'm not just talking about graphics, but gameplay. Should be some serious leaps and bounds. I think MGS 4 has similar potential to be truly Next-Gen...not just another pretty update.
Why would anyone want to play as a normal citizen? To stand around and get shot? What would happen after you take over the city? Since there's multiple players how will anyone else take over the city? 0_o
Didn't San Andreas have on-line on the PC version. I think you're going a little over the top. GTA has always been always will befundamentaly a single player game. On-line would be nice in GTA 4 but not essential. It is essential of course in other genres. The amount of cash though that MS are throwing R*s way I wouldn't be that surprised if the PS3 got nothing more than the basic package of the game.

That's my point I don't think there is anything to look up because as far as I'm aware R* have never confirmed on-line. But I'm willing to admit that I'm wrong if somebody can post an OFFICIAL link to this story and not just some gaming website speculating
