It's funny, if you mosey on over to the NDS forum (god forbid!), you'll run into a post just like this. The only difference is that the mod who is locking forum posts over there (there? As if digital space can be defined spacially! HA!) is a lot more trigger happy with his mouse when it comes to posts like these. Not that I'm suggesting that the mod in this forum do the same to this post, I'm very much against the whole 'institutionalized facism thing' after all.
Be cool, stay in school.
god it's easly in the year developers haven't announced their titles for 08 yet the games listed are the ones announced last year .... good games take time to make the summer is when most games get announced for the holiday's since that's when most games come out.
that being said games like Pursuit Force 2, God of War, destroy all humans, Need for Speed, Flat out, wipeout pulse, Pataton, lego Indiana Jones, Starwars force unleased, psp is doing fine.
alot of games seem to lack story an fun gameplay among other things. that is the one thing that NEEDS to change. i love both my psp an ps3(its a must to have sony stuff before anything else)... but the psp games need to be more solid. when i look an compare games coming out between the psp an ds, its kinda upsetting!
an granted, there are a few psp games that look spectacular(ffviicc), there needs to be more. the only game i play on my psp is initial d street stage, every other game i have sold because there was no point in keeping it. which is upsetting because the psp is capable of so much more.
Let see...
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
God of War: Chains of Olympus
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Wipeout Pulse
Lego Indiana Jones
Star Ocean: First Departure
Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Wild Arms XF
Devil May Cry
...just to name a few
For me the PSP is looking fantastic and I can't wait for all of the great games comming in the future.
I highly doubt Sony would let the PSP die. Like someone else mentioned, it's still early on in the year. They may or may not have a few surprises up their sleeves, so I wouldn't rule anything out just yet. But, if you are, in fact, disappointed with yours, then sell it. That way you get some money off of it, and someone else can enjoy it.
I do echo what most others have said, though, and I am eagerly awaiting GOW.
Why do we see posts like this every couple of weeks? Search the other countless # of "PSP is dying threads" and see all the hundreds of responses to the contrary. If you want to get rid of your "dying system" your local game stop or ebay can take it off your hands. As for me I'm going back to my "dying system" & anxiously waiting for all the cool "dying games" to be released.

My only issue is that the majority of these are ports of 360 or ps3 games and the Rainbow six vegas port was pretty poor as a game for the PSP, hopefully these will be a better port.
Don't think we should worry about the PSP dying for another couple of years especially with the upcoming game line-ups. Honestly, if the PSP is indeed going to die there's nothing we can do about it. The life of handhelds definitely doesn't end at the PSP.
Until that day comes, let's just enjoy whatever games that are released to us gamers.

Umm no they arent. 8 out of 11 are brand new games. We alsoknow nothing about DMC so no idea if it is a port of one of the older games or a brand new title. The only one that is really a port of an older game is the Star Oceans I believe.
I see titles pop up all the time O.O. Last year, i saw new titles pop up from nowhere without knowing. I knew 3-4 titles that were coming, about 20 more came too, If you know what i mean.
Anyway, dont forget Patapon!!
And after 3-4 years when the psp dies, lets all gather around a big campfire and dream back to the good years with our psp ;)

Ok what I meant is that a lot of the games in that are list are currently being produced for other consoles,
eg. Lego Indiana Jones, God Of War, Devil May Cry, Star Wars the force unleased and Crisis Core.
When this occoured with the R6 Vegas the PSP version lacked the same thought and detail as the other console game, I'm just hoping this doesnt occour beacuse the PSP can run so much better with a decent control system and the graphics are great for cut scences and gameplay alike.

Crisis core is psp only. The god of war game has been designed from scratch for the psp, although i guess ill agree that its hardly original. We know nothing about dmc yet, im still hoping its not just a mere rumour.
The vegas port was a cash-in. I very much doubt any dev would bother putting in the time to make a psp version of that game work properly, if they're releasing it on all the other consoles too. Heck, im not even sure you could make it work at all, since the psp isnt much good for fps games.
The other lego game worked fine on psp. The only one id be worried about is the Force Unleashed, that could very easily go the same way as vegas. Id pick it up on the bigger consoles even if it was good though.
But omg, God of War AND Crisis Core come out next month? This year rules! What is OP talking about?

As stated, Crisis Core is PSP exclusive. God of War may be a franchise that is also on other consoles but it is an entirely different story then the console versions. That means it is not a port or avaliable on another system. Nothing is known about Devil may Cry so no idea if it is a port or a brand new story. As far as Lego Indiana Jones and Star Wars Force Unleashed is concered, yes they will be avaliable for onther systems at the same time as the PSP version. That doesnt make them ports, they are designed specifically for the PSP. What is wrong with having these 2 games on the PSP as well as the console if they are made for the PSP? Some people dont have consoles so they are very excited to have these brand new games on the PSP. As I said, Star Ocean 1 and 2 are really the only ports I believe. And as far as games that will be comming out on other systems, Lego Indiana Jones and Star Wars are the only 2. 4 out of 11 is not a majority, and I only listed games that interested me that I have heard of. Im sure there are many, many others comming out this year that I havent mentioned.
well, according to gamespot this year is looking dim for the psp, not too many games coming out that are worth while...these companies that produce games has got to get their act together and fast...Even IGN has a list of games comming out and yeah they say there are more of them, but still nothing is blowing me away...looks like it might be the end for psp! i am very disapointed. silvok
WTH? What do u mean there's nothing blowing you away. What exactly do you want :|

The best games on a console are usually the different ones such as Vice City Stories, Loco Roco, Silent Hill Origins etc. bascially PSP needs a good additive shooter, something like Superstardust HD or Snakeball or something that would really bring the donsoole to life.

Thus the PSP is losing support of 3rd party developers, which means less games & so less people buy it, thus the handheld gets pulled off the market, i think this will happen quite soon.
Also, can you even get UMD movies anymore or has that been killed off too? Another wasted functionality.

wow, lets see, this is the 100th time ive seen this exact same post.
so nothing is "blowing you away" then i guess that sony should just say "**** it" and pack up their bags, and so should all game developers. i mean u dont like the up coming games right?
main thing that upsets me is that ur goin mainly on the fact that YOU dont like the upcoming games and there for it "looks like it might be the end for psp!"
very well thought out

I'm really sick of the DS/PSP comparisons. Seriously, where does it say that the PSP has to sale just as many copies as the DS to be sucessful. Throughout points last year, the psp managed to rival the DS in sales. If anything, this was Sony's attempt to establish a system into a market previous only occupied by Nintendo. And as with the PS3, Sony has learned from it's mistakes so yeah, I don't think the PSP is in trouble.
