That's right ladies and manly men, I'm asking if you think if a game so driven on emotion has the potential to make you cry. If you guys can somehow make a debate out of the question, then don't let me get in your way. Lets hear it!

From what I've seen so far no, but that does not mean I will not get emotionally attached to the characters. GrandJurykeep pretending ;)
Im a BIG strong manly man with big muscles and other manly stuff so no it wont make me cry :P-Hoax-Ha. Now I understand why you call yourself "Hoax." :P
Only game thats ever come close to making me cry was Heavenly Sword in the end. Not really because of sadness either, but because of the beauty of the moment, and the awesome game I had just completed. Heavy Rain looks like its got some heavy storytelling to offer, but considering I've never cried during a movie, I doubt it will succeed, it may come close though.
Dunno, we'll see, I might get wet eyes if they really have a plot as great as it seems, but usually I find a least one thing that bugs me plot-wise, no matter if it's in a game or movie, that I can't take the actors/characters seriously enough to get into those "deeply emotinal scenes*

yea only mgs4 and smw have made me close to tearing up mgs4 is self explanatory
super mario world isnt because i recently played the game and i almost cried from nostalgia of playing it with my older sisters and cousins when i was a kid
also because its too good of a game to finish

I never cry... I didn't cry even when my great-grandmother died... I don't know what, but I just don't cry... :)ks1990steelman*Eye twitch*
I think I will laugh at it because of the ridiculous story. If you've played Indigo Prophecy you know what to expect. Pac-man has a better story.

I admire the heavy research you put into Heavy Rain. That's true I did some heavy research on heavy rain whilst listening to some heavy metal.Heavy Rain looks like a much better version of Indigo Prophecy, and trust me that's a good thing. If you didn't like this type of game before you probably still wont.
Oh yeah, it won't make me cry!
I lost my tear ducts in the war, i cant.
Nah im a giant kittykat, i cried in FF X-2, i shed a tear in Persona 3, in FF8, i even cried in Sonic the hedgehog when you didnt get all the crystals when you beat the game to save tails. :(
I most likely will cry. Im a giant softie of a man.

8D Ooh you hitting on me? Be gentle...its my first time
I feel the testosterone and MAAAANLINESS in this thread from the other users :P they are all very MANLINESS!! HHHHNNGGGGGHHAAAAA
Contrary to popular belief, crying is the sole thing that can introduce you into the world of manliness. That being said, no game has ever TRULY made me cry. "Truly" being the operative word. I can think of a couple that made be tear up a bit and materialize large objects in my throat, but that's about it. FFX being one of them of course. The others I think I'll keep to my self. *whistles*
