So I'm thinking about picking up a PS3, and I just have a quick question about the AV chord that comes with the system. Is it the typical 3 prong AV chord, or will it have the 6 connectors for HD TVs. I know it doesn't come with HDMI chords, but I am curious as to if it comes with componant or composite cables. If somebody can fill me in, then tell me what I will need to buy to get the most out of my system it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey the ps3 only comes with the av cables (yellow, white and red), so you would definitely be better off with a hdmi cable (if ur tv supports it), which you will have to buy unfortunately. Dont ask why playstation didnt provide this with the ps3...

To be more specific, its the 3 prong cable, and you can buy other cables like the component cable that comes with the xbox 360, which displays HD aswell

yeah I know what type u were talking about when u said AV cables. I just tried to keep my post pretty broad since I wasn't sure how knowledgeable people were. Yeah that does suck. Any idea how much either of those cables are going to run me at the best price? (HDMI or component)

You can get either very very cheap on Amazon, I got an HDMI for under $3.00. Go with HDMI if your tv supports it obviously.

Unfortunately the system only comes with standard AVS jacks, but you could spend a little extra and get HDMI cables provided you have an HDMI ready TV.
