as of right now...there will be no DLC for sony. microsoft locked it up by hurling money at bethseda. as i've said in several threads of this nature, the only glitch i've come across is the notification glitch. just turn off notes or sign off line and you'll be straight. I love this game. I've put 40 hours into it and I JUST started doing the main mission. was level 18 before I even started the main mission and the cap is 20, that shows you how beefy it is.

I got a week ago. I'm not really a fan of RPGs, the only one I ever really played (and loved) was Kingdom Hearts. That being said, this game is awesome. Along with MGS4 and GTA4,, its one of the best games ive played this year. It starts a little slow, and you may not enjoy it your first 2-3 plays, but after that it gets really good, and really addictive. I find myself only wanting to play it,, havent touched COD:WaW or FIFA 09 (games i played constantly before) since. There's honestly so much to do in this game,, you likely wont even get to 40% of the content, so I could care less about any DLC. Also, do not believe the complaints about glitches. I, and a lot of other PS3 owners of this game have agreed there isnt really anything. Most of the glitches seem to come from online notifications, but its an offline game so I dont have ethernet cable in so thats probably why I've had no problems. As far as bang for buck goes, you cant really beat this one. This game is quality and quantity. Its not without its faults, but if you have any interest in it, id suggest picking it up, and having patience at first. Its a little daunting

don't listen to him. the campaign is fine. but if you are one of those people that doesn't take time to explore and do nothing but the main mission you'll be sad because you can get through the main mission in about 10-15 hours.

well ive read a lil about the DLC the game that s coming out in january, february and march, it will hav a map editor, something like brotherhood of metal, a new city and some new quests and items, for me its sad that the ps3 version will never see this(except for the editor which i dont care) but what else i can do, your opinions about the game are really good considering the crappy reviews of some websites, but personally i like more players reviews and opinions, ive made my decision and thank you to the community again for your help

lol fortunately im the guy that loves to squeeze every lil bit of a game, and i love doing that to my rpgs, i loved doing it for FF X(i finished with tidus being a god like char with all the abilitys and stuff and doing 9999 to the final boss) and i think ill love doing it to fallout3 since it hav a lot of dam things to do and a huge fking map to explore

i think almost all the gaming websites ripped the ps3 version because of the bugs, glitches and bad graphics compared to M$ version, but i dont really take those reviews or reviewers seriously now, ive read some ps3 games reviews and its like a ps3 hate idk, everytime in some part of it they always come up with some comparing comment glorifying the M$ version

trust me, the game won't disappoint. gs talked about floating heads and bodies disappearing. i've never seen that once. go out and get it. if you like oblivion...think of it mixed with a traditional western rpg (exp from mobs and quests)

Are you serious? How can anyone defend the campaign?

It is by far the most disapointing feature of the game and its an RPG!!

Not only is it short, but it never really gets fleshed out. The campaign doesnt even touch 80 percent of the game which is ridiculous. You have to run around the gigantic world in the hopes that you'll find something interesting.

you've clearly never played a bethseda game before. the meat and potatoes are always the side quests. and honestly, thats what makes good games great. campaign, short...sure whatever. but when i say i put 40 hours into the game and i just started doing the main quest, that tells you something

i bit on fallout 3. i haven't opened it yet, but i went to a circuit city that was closing, and there was one collector's edition tin left, and for some reason it was marked at 60 bucks. with the "store closing games additional 25% off", i scored it at a cool $47.24..

i dunno if it's been marked down like that anywhere else. i hadn't intended on buying fallout 3, and i checked amazon.. they have it for 67.xx, so if you can find a circuit city that's closing down near you, you might wanna check it out :)

it depends what kind of gamer you are. i am a huge sci-fi fan and it's theme was an answer to a prayer. but it does not address gamers who cannot play for more than an hour a day. i found too few moments of feeling i have accomplished something. but if you are happy with 3 hour stretches at a time in order to get any satisfaction from it you will love it.

ps, i loved FF7 on PS1, so it's not that i cannot play RPGs!

I somewhat agree with this, and Oblivion suffered from this problem as well. It also doesn't help that a majority of the significant side-quests are off the beaten path, which may put some people off. The game hardly suffers from lack of content, though.

sorry i don't mean to be a **** (i am sure this will get censored...) but how can you invest 60 hours on doing side missions while you find the main one unsatisfying?!? it's not even if it's got good shooting mechanics! - most of the time i was shooting on the ground. unless you are lazy and using the VATS :)

To each their own, i guess. I though Fallout 3's game world was amazing and well-worth exploring.I didn't have a problem with the combat mechanics, neither.

Also, Bethseda have never been very good at make compelling main-story campaigns. Thats not to say that Fallout 3's story was terrible, but its no-where compariable to other classic western RPGs.

well the graphics arent everything but its an important part of a game along with gameplay and story, btw the ps3 version is well knowed to be the worst one, because of the graphics and glitches, so im not expecting to be playing an awsome game with amazing graphics, also i dont care if i can complete the main story in less than %40, ill finish it with another saved game and thats all, after that ill complete it to %100, its strange but thats soemthing interesting to me, if u already "beated" the game and only hav %40, wtf there is a lot of dam things left to do, its like some rpgs, that you want everything done before kickicng the final boss

I just bought LittleBigPlanet and Fallout 3, lol. Anyways I got the 360 version, but they're practically identical. I think it's awesome but frustrating at times. I find myself running out of health packs a lot and the game went from very easy to hard very quickly for me. Maybe I just suck but I'm taking a break from it right now. If you liked Oblivion then you will probably like this, and if you didn't like Oblivion because of its RPG system then you will probably like this since it's not like Oblivion's. The way you move, and interact with people feels almost identical to Oblivion's. The V.A.T.S system is totally different though and this game literally takes place in a wasteland as some people used that term to describe Oblivion. At least it feels more appropriate in Fallout 3.

At least it feels more appropriate in Fallout 3.TIGERLIONX

AHHHHHHHHHH those are the 2 games ill be getting the next week I WANT THEM NOWWWW, well enough, dam i really want those games right now, a lot more after reading some owners opinons about fallout 3, ya ive heard it can be a little frustrating sometimes but there hav to be some challenge too, btw ive never played oblivion and everyone that hav fallout3 seems to take it as example, can you give some hints about the things in common?

The way you walk and move around, even the 3rd person view seems very similar to the way you move in Oblivion. The dialogue scenes are the same in that when you talk to someone everything around you freezes, though the character models look much better and voices are more varied in Fallout 3. The way "dungeons" are implemented is very similar to Oblivion as well. When you reach a new destination the game tells you and then you can fast travel from places you've discovered.

as of right now...there will be no DLC for sony. microsoft locked it up by hurling money at bethseda. as i've said in several threads of this nature, the only glitch i've come across is the notification glitch. just turn off notes or sign off line and you'll be straight. I love this game. I've put 40 hours into it and I JUST started doing the main mission. was level 18 before I even started the main mission and the cap is 20, that shows you how beefy it is.

no that show's you how unfleshed out the game is, i would not recommend getting this game, unless you just want to walk around the world and find new places (oohhh how exciting??) I found this game very boring and finished the main quest in two days.

Fallout 3 is an excellent game and you will enjoy it more if you enjoyed Oblivion. There's so many quests you can do in the game. Although I enjoyed the quests I was kinda disappointed with the endings. I didn't buy the PS3 version because of the game breaking glitches and I didn't buy the PC because I don't game on the PC, I bought the 360 version because of the exclusive content coming up.

So if you only have the option to get the PS3 version, then yes you should get it and hope the glitches are already or will be fixed. I believe the best version is the PC version, that's only if you have a good gaming PC rig.

About fallout 3 dlc on PS3, Pete Hines said something a while ago saying: "if there is a high enough demand for it, we will add it to PS3" or something like that.

But anyway, get fallout 3. There are a ways to get around certain glitches

Apart from the notification glitch (seriously, did they even test the PS3 version?), the only other thing that annoys me is the level cap. Apart from that, the game is fantastic.

well idk if you ever played oblivion but in the sidequests in oblivion they actually met something, the sidequests in fallout 3 to me just felt like i was doing them to gain experience, oh that's another thing you get to level 20 way way way to easy, like someone else said they got to lvl 18 before they started the main quest i mean that just shouldn't happen

from everything you said...i can't honestly say i believe that you played this game. you seem like you just read what other people were saying about it and were like "yea i agree". the game IS beefy. yes the main story is short...big deal. There is a bunch to explore and sidequests to do. You can't come into this game and just do the main story. And yea, what game do you play where you don't do side missions FOR something. They are SIDE missions...missions on the side...besides the main story.

fallout 3 has been a great game in my opinion it is no less than the 360 version except when it come down to DLC but that soon might change. I have finished the game doing all the quests within 60hrs or so would have taken longer but the fast travel in the game gets too convienient.lol You will love this game no matter what system you buy it for I bought it for my PS3 only because my 360 RRODed and has been sent to MS twice. I guess some thing are better left broken haha.

if you have a good gaming PC or xbox 360 you should get it for that.....ps3 has stu-stu-stu-stuttering issues when roaming the wasteland, lots of jaggies, and frequent texture pop-ins.
